The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC), the world's first child protection agency, held its annual fall benefit on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at The Metropolitan Club in Manhattan. This year, The NYSPCC's benefit was their Inaugural Wine Dinner. The 215 guests, dressed in festive attire, enjoyed an extraordinary menu designed by renowned chef, Jonathan Waxman, of Barbuto, and featured excellent wines from the Napa Valley winery, Tournesol. The cocktail hour kicked off the evening with wine tasting tables sponsored by Bespoke, Far Niente, Millbrook Vineyards and Winery, OneHope and Premier Cru Wine Merchants. American Conservatory Theater's Young Conservatory director Craig Slaight announced casting today for The Exam, commissioned by London's National Theatre and written by renowned British writer and comedian Andy Hamilton. Directed by Amelia Stewart, the production features actors from A.C.T.'s acclaimed Young Conservatory program. The Exam plays August 15-22 at A.C.T.'s newest performance space, the Garret Room, located on the fifth floor of the American Conservatory Theater.
