2015 Innovative Theater Award Winners Announced!

On Monday, September 21, 2015 The Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 11 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2015 recipients at its annual event. Celebrating eleven years and thousands of nominees, the New York Innovative Theatre awards took place at Mason Hall at Baruch Performing Arts Center.

New York Innovative Theatre Foundation Announces IT Award Nominations

BWW Reviews: Rep's Soaring Production of FLY

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis is presenting a modern masterpiece with their soaring production of FLY. The acting is excellent, the direction is sharply focused, and the technical achievements are spectacular. I'm probably going to run out of superlatives before I finish this review, so bear with me as I gush on about one of the most amazing examples of 'action' theatre that I've had the privilege to witness. FLY is a theatrical experience that pays tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen of World War II in a most remarkable way, and it's an absolute must-see event.

Tuskegee Airmen Tribute FLY Continues The Rep's 47th Season

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) presents the inspiring playFly by Trey Ellis and Ricardo Khan and directed by Ricardo Khan. This extraordinary and uplifting production will be performed on the Browning Mainstage of the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts, 130 Edgar Road (on the campus of Webster University), Webster Groves, October 16-November 10, 2013.

FLY to Open Cincinnati Playhouse's 2013-14 Season, 9/7-10/5

The inspiring story of World War II's heroic Tuskegee Airmen is brought to vivid life in FLY by Trey Ellis and Ricardo Khan. The play opens the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's Robert S. Marx Theatre season from Sept. 7 through Oct. 5.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that WAR HORSE, which just opened at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre last week, is gearing up for a national tour, as well as a separate sit-down Toronto production. While details on the tour have not yet been announced, the show will play Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre from June 13 - July 22, 2012. The Toronto production is set to open in February of 2012.

Photo Flash: WAR HORSE Puppets Visit Illumination Lawn

Yesterday the horse puppets from 'War Horse' opened Lincoln Center's Illumination Lawn for the summer season. The horse puppets dazzled onlookers on the Lawn, which is a double-twisted green space that forms the roof of one of Lincoln Center's newest buildings.

TV: Broadway Beat Goes Inside Opening Night of WAR HORSE

The National Theatre of Great Britain's production of WAR HORSE, presented by Lincoln Center Theater and the National Theatre of Great Britain in association with Bob Boyett opened last night at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65th Street) and we were there! WAR HORSE is based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, adapted by Nick Stafford, with Handspring Puppet Company, and directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris. LCT Announces Open-Ended Run for WAR HORSE

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that the limited engagement run of the National Theatre of Great Britain production of WAR HORSE has been extended indefinitely at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). WAR HORSE which is produced by Lincoln Center Theater and The National Theatre of Great Britain in association with Bob Boyett, began previews Tuesday, March 15, opened Thursday, April 14 and was scheduled to run through Sunday, June 26.
