L.I.P. Service is thrilled to announce their production of Bernard Pomerance's THE ELEPHANT MAN (with original cello composition by Josh Bradford), Directed by Shawn Gann and starring Jason Leyva, Pat Watson, and Sara Lovett; and, featuring *Bert Pigg, and Chris Messersmith. The performance will premiere at The Firehouse Theatre on September 29 at 8:00pm. It will run through October 15 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

Algonquin Theater Productions and Jason Hewitt have announced Broadway actors Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Lysistrata Jones, Legally Blonde, Hairspray), Mel Johnson Jr. (Jekyll & Hyde, Hot Feet, The Lion King, Big Deal, The Rink, Eubie!, On the Twentieth Century), and James Ludwig (Spamalot, Little Shop of Horrors) have joined the cast of the world premiere of ON THE RAILS, a new musical with book by Tony Sportiello (Second Chance, National Pastime), music and lyrics by Al Tapper (Sessions, An Evening at the Carlyle), arrangements and musical direction by David Wolfson, and directed by Misti B. This August, Carriageworks presents Sydney Chamber Opera's (SCO) new production of composer Jack Symonds's and librettist Pierce Wilcox's Notes from Underground. Directed by Patrick Nolan and designed by Genevieve Blanchett it will be presented over five nights on 13, 15, 17, 19 and 20 August. The last time the company presented this opera it was for their 2011 inaugural production at Sydney's Cellblock Theatre. This production established SCO as one of the most important and distinctive new voices in Australian opera.

The Annoyance Theatre NY has announced that it will open Dark Down Deep Down Dark: The Chilean Miner Experience with an all-Latino cast of Alise Morales (IFC, UCB), Will Martinez (UCB), Juan Nicolon (UCB, Flama), Taylor Gonzalez (DEADA$$), Michael Hernandez (My Privacy), and Milly Tamarez (UCB). For my school's spring play, New Albany High School presented a production of the classic Shakespearean tragedy, Macbeth. The director and teacher of the drama department at the school, Elliott Lemberg, decided to stray from the typical setting of late 1500s Scotland and put a Kabuki twist on it.
