Huntington Theatre Company, the 2013 recipient of the Regional Theatre Tony Award and Boston magazine's Best Theatre of 2013 and 2014, announces that playwright Bryony Lavery's acclaimed adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House will complete its 2016-2017 Season. The adaptation of this iconic classic will be directed by Melia Bensussen (Awake and Sing!, Luck of the Irish), and the play joins the previously announced six titles in the 2016-2017 Season.

James Houghton, Richard Rodgers Director ofJuilliard's Drama Division, announced today that Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire will join Marsha Normanas new co-director of Juilliard's Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program, beginning in the fall 2016 semester. Mr. Lindsay-Abaire, an alumnus of the program, will succeed Christopher Durang, who has served as co-director of the program with Ms. Norman since 1994.

?David Lindsay-Abaire's dark comedy Good People is quite the undertaking for the directorial debut of Associate Artistic Director Matthew Busch. Good People is set in Southie, a densely populated neighborhood of South Boston known as a primarily working-class Irish American community that has recently undergone significant gentrification, making life more unaffordable for the residents of humbler means.

The Echo Theater Company presents the West Coast premiere of Dry Land, the riveting play by newcomer Ruby Rae Spiegel that has critics and audiences across the U.S. abuzz. Alana Dietze (A Small Fire) directs Connor Kelly-Eiding, Teagan Rose, Daniel Hagen, Ben Horwitz and Jenny Soo for an April 9 opening at the Echo's home base, Atwater Village Theatre.

The Cape Cod Theatre Company, home of the Harwich Junior Theatre, brings a stunning production of Shrek: The Musical to a Cape Cod stage and does an absolutely fine job of making sure audiences will see all the wonder to be found in this show. I am like a broken record when it comes to my praise of this group, but even at the risk of being redundant and sounding like a lovesick theater child will I once again say that CCTC has impressed me from the very beginning and continues to do so.

Closing this weekend is Out of Box Theatre's stunning production of Lee Blessing's Two Rooms, a potent political drama that its audiences have called 'intense,' 'tremendous,' and 'passionate.' Atlanta actors Candace Mabry and Olubajo Sonubi star as husband and wife, embroiled in an international hostage crisis. Professor Michael Wells (Sonubi) is taken captive by political terrorists in Beirut, leaving his wife Lainie (Mabry) behind to deal with the emotional trauma and political maneuverings of the government and the media. Also featuring Aretta Baumgartner and Aaron Goodson, and directed by Joel Coady, this production has garnered much success with audiences.

Driven by an evil prophesy and his scheming wife, Macbeth kills the king and claims his crown, thus beginning a moral descent into a reign of terror.

For its second season, Refuge Theatre Project will continue its mission of showcasing the work of a new generation of musical theater writers. Company co-founders Ross and Morgan Glynn Egan announced today that the season will open with High Fidelity -- the musical based on Nick Hornby's 1995 novel and on Stephen Frears' 2000 feature-film adaptation that starred Chicago natives John Cusack, Joan Cusack and Lili Taylor.
