Venetian Las Vegas to Present First Female Comedy Series on the Strip

The Venetian Las Vegas has announced LIPSHTICK - THE PERFECT SHADE OF STAND UP, a newly branded resident comedy series that marks the first time in the storied entertainment history of Las Vegas that the comedy stage will be taken exclusively by female performers. The new series will debut July 11 with appearances by daytime television personality Wendy Williams and will bring regular stand-up comedy performances to The Sands Showroom from an opening slate of 14 critically acclaimed comediennes.

Neil Patrick Harris, once rumored to be a contender to replace David Letterman on THE LATE SHOW, confirmed today to Howard Stern that he was, in fact, initially approached to succeed the late-night host. Harris said CBS' Les Moonves and Nina Tassler also offered him Craig Ferguson's spot in the later show, though he eventually turned both gigs down.

The Eisemann Center and the City of Richardson announced the 2014-2015 Season of Eisemann Center Presents (ECP) at the Annual Season Preview Party on Thursday, May 8, 2014. The season will include the popular Theatre Comedy Series with four productions and 23 performances; the Methodist Richardson Family Theatre Series with five productions and Jeffrey Siegel's Keyboard Conversations with a total of four concerts. In addition, there are eight MainStage Shows featuring a diverse mix of programming and artistic disciplines. Some of the more popular productions and artists from the past twelve years are returning to join the season - Mandy Patinkin, Steve Solomon, the Paul Taylor Dance Company and The Church Basement Ladies. In the time period, “Grimm” tied for the top scripted program on the Big 4 in adults 18-49 and was the top scripted program on those nets in adult 18-34. L+7 Time –Shifting: “Grimm” originals are growing this season by +82% from its L+SD result to L+7 in 18-49 rating (to a 2.60 from a 1.43) and increasing by 2.9 million persons in total viewers (8.3 million vs. 5.4 million).
