Opera San José (OSJ) continues its season with Gioachino Rossini's The Italian Girl in Algiers. This sparkling and fast-paced opera weaves a madcap story full of twists and turns into a comic adventure to a land of magnificent palaces, swashbuckling pirates and lavish harems. The Italian Girl in Algiers will be sung in Italian with English supertitles. Six performances are scheduled from November 15 through 30 at the California Theatre, 345 South First Street in downtown San José.

'Can-Can' will open at Paper Mill Playhouse on October 1st and run until October 26th. New Jersey native, Michael McArthur will be in the ensemble of this exciting show. Michael returns to Paper Mill after being in their 'Newsies' cast. He was also a recipient of the playhouse's prestigious 'Rising Star Award' when he was in high school.
Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, announces the cast and creative team for its production of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's Camelot, directed by David Lee with music direction and orchestrations by Steve Orich (Jersey Boys) and choreography by Mark Esposito (South Pacific with Reba McEntire). THE FOREIGNER takes places in a cozy fishing lodge in rural Tilghman County, Georgia. There we meet two Englishmen Froggy and Charlie. Staff Sergeant Froggy has come to do some official military business near the area and forced his friend Charlie to join for a change of scenery. Plagued by marital problems back home across the pond, Charlie is insistent that he cannot provide good company to the other guests of the lodge and will be seen as rude when all he craves is some peace and quiet instead of social interaction. The problem is solved when Froggy concocts the idea of telling everyone that Charlie is an exotic foreigner who doesn't understand English. Comedic madness ensues as the 'foreigner' Charlie becomes privy to the deepest secrets and scandals of everyone as they begin to speak freely in front of him.
