Poets' Choice Publishing Launches 'Guy Wires'
by Christina Mancuso
- May 13, 2015
Poets' Choice (www.Poets-Choice.com) is honored to publish Guy Wires, the latest collection of poetry by Elisavietta Ritchie. The newly established publishing house works closely with the William Meredith Foundation to support the arts and continue the legacy of a great American spirit. Recent annual Meredith Awards for Poetry include Poets David Fisher, Lyubomir Levchev and former US Poet Laureate, Natasha Trethewey.
Poet, writer, editor, translator, journalist, photographer, Elisavietta Ritchie's award-winning work is widely published in the United States and abroad. Guy Wires is her seventeenth publication in a long and distinguished career.
For three years, she served as President of the Washington Writers' Publishing House, and has involved herself with writers and poets in exile and immigration/emigration, translating poems from Russian, French, and Malay-Indonesian. Her own work has been translated into a dozen languages. Her recent chapbook, 'Feathers, Or, Love on the Wing' is a collaboration with visual artists Megan Richard and Suzanne Shelden (SheldenStudios.com) who designed the present collection. Ritchie's poetry is greatly admired by readers and critics alike:
'Elisavietta Ritchie's poetry combines a Byzantine elegance with straight-forward plain style honesty. The extraordinary range of her interests: work, love, sensuality, and man's plight in a forlorn civilization-is reinforced by her exquisite regard for language and lively fascination with the possibilities of form.'
William Packard
In the past, Ms. Ritchie has worked as a free-lance writer and photographer for the New York Times and The Christian Science Monitor. Presently, she continues to lead creative writing workshops for adults and school children and works as a photographer and journalist for The Bay Weekly. She lives in Washington and Southern Maryland with her husband Clyde Farnsworth. They have traveled widely together and recounted their life as citizens of the world in various genres.

Fashion Photo of the Day 3/5/14 - Kristen Bell
by Rachel Stone
- Mar 5, 2014
I sort of wish Kristen Bell wore this dress to the Oscars Sunday night and not just to the Vanity Fair after party. I really liked her first dress but I love this dress. To me it makes more of a statement and has a lot more drama. I get why she wore the soft Roberto Cavalli dress to the Oscars. It was a little fancier and as she said on the red carpet, reminded her of Frozen. And she really did look very beautiful. But in a sea of soft, sequined dresses that night, she kind of just blended in, as did quite a few stars. But this red dress, wow!
Fashion Photo of the Day 2/20/14 - Katy Perry

I love me some Katy Perry. She has mastered the art of mixing sexy with quirky which is not an easy task. And no matter what, Perry always stays true to herself. I am absolutely in love with this Vivenne Westwood dress. It has a vintage, Stepford Wives feel but is also very modern and sultry. It hugs Perry's gorgeous figure perfectly and is giving her cleavage for days! Give me a corset, cleavage and a some draping around my stomach any day of the week and I am one happy girl.
Fashion Photo of the Day 2/14/14 - Jessica Brown-Findlay
by Rachel Stone
- Feb 14, 2014
This picture just seemed like the perfect choice for Valentine's Day. Jessica Brown-Findlay looks like a cream and pink cupcake in Dior at the London premiere of her new film Winter's Tale. It is fun seeing her all dolled up in make up which is a far cry from the under made-up Lady Sybil on Downton Abbey. It doesn't really matter - down up or not - Brown-Findlay is stunning and her beauty is only enhanced with makeup. She is a rare beauty who glows without it.
Fashion Photo of the Day 1/13/14 - Lupita Nyong'o
by Rachel Stone
- Jan 13, 2014
There were so many wonderful dresses at last night's Golden Globes but for once picking my favorite of the evening was a no brainer. For me, Lupita Nyong'o's red Ralph Lauren dress was far and away the best dress of the evening. There were many close seconds, which I will get to as the week goes on, but for now I must bow down to Nyong'o and her unbelievable ensemble.

The 71st AnnuAl Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for the second year in a row, aired last night, January 12, 2014, LIVE coast-to-coast on NBC from the Beverly Hilton. When it came to last night's fashion, the women really delivered. The red carpet was filled with a lot of black and white dresses, reds as well as some silvers and nudes. Unlike other years, only a few women chose a bright color dress.
Fashion Photo of the Day 12/4/13 - Keira Knightley
by Rachel Stone
- Dec 4, 2013
There is nothing I love more than a pretty party dress except maybe a pretty party dress by Chanel! Keira Knightley wore the most beautiful, delicate, girly Chanel dress to the SeriousFun Children's Network Gala in London and I can't help but smile when I see it. But I can't help but think I have seen this dress before on Keira Knightley. Turns out, the British actress is following Princess Kate's example and is repurposing dresses. But this isn't just any dress. This Chanel dress is the same dress Knightley wore to marry her husband James Righton!
Fashion Photo of the Day 12/2/13 - Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

- Dec 2, 2013
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley made quite an impact at the British Fashion Awards in London wearing a red suit by Antonio Beradi. It's not my taste but I can totally appreciate the artistry and I think she looks amazing. And one thing's for sure, you cannot miss this outfit - she definitely makes a statement!
