Hart House Theatre is proud to announce a new partnership with Zadkiel Productions for its 2011/2012 season.

At a press conference held June 7 at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 171 nominations for 197 eligible productions that opened between June 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011 for the 32nd annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards which honour excellence in the performing arts in Toronto.

The first winners of the Toronto Theatre Critics' Awards - decided by John Coulbourn (the Toronto Sun), Richard Ouzounian (the Toronto Star), Robert Cushman (the National Post), and Kelly Nestruck (the Globe and Mail) - were announced today. Among the winners were Tony Sheldon, now Tony-nominated for PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, and SOUTH PACIFIC, which was produced by Lincoln Center Theatre.

Poet David Ferry, a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Suffolk University since 2009, has won the 2011 Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize, which recognizes the extraordinary lifetime accomplishments of a living U.S. poet.

The Toronto Masque Theatre (TMT) presents its final production of the season, "Masques of Orpheus", which features two deeply affecting versions of the story synonymous with opera itself: Orpheus' journey to the underworld, where he uses his music and poetry to convince Pluto to restore his beloved Eurydice to life.
