This lightning-in-a-bottle survey of American burlesque -- with Lemley leading a tight-knit coterie of showgirls through heart-racing choreography, in eye-popping costumes -- is supported by a razor-sharp nine-piece live band under the music direction of Daniel Lincoln. Speaking is Kristen Martin, who plays Ariel in Maine State Music Theatre's final season production of Footloose, which runs from August 6-23. Her co-star, Eric Sciotto, agrees that his character, Ren, is 'on a journey to find himself after being abandoned by his father. Ren sees in Ariel a troubled soul who reminds him of himself. Part singer/songwriter, part storyteller, part social-commentator and humorist, Ippolito has become famous for his simple catch phrase, 'It's just us,' and his ability to turn a large crowd of strangers into a group of friends.
