THE PEARL THEATRE COMPANY (J.R. Sullivan, Artistic Director; Shira Beckerman, Managing Director) will present Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley in a one-night cabaret benefit on Monday, May 2, 2011 at B.B. King Blues Club. The master of ceremonies will be Stephen Wallem of Showtime's 'Nurse Jackie.' The event is in support of The Pearl Theatre Company.

Seattle Shakespeare Company announced today its plans to produce The Threepenny Opera at the Intiman Theatre. The Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill musical satire about the dapper criminal, Mac the Knife, and the denizens of his seedy underworld will close March 6, 2011.

The production begins performances on January 14 at New York City Center Stage II and is directed by the former Artistic Director of Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Joseph Hanreddy.

The adventure continues as Amphibian Stage Productions brings to Fort Worth six plays - three of them regional premieres - by playwrights both new and seasoned. Amphibian's mainstage season will include three full productions at the Hardy and Betty Sanders Theater, located in the Fort Worth Community Arts Center: Animals Out of Paper by Rajiv Joseph, Wittenberg by David Davalos, and Vigil by Morris Panych.

Seattle Shakespeare Company is currently coupling their powerhouse production of "Hamlet" with an amusing look into Hamlet's college days with "Wittenberg" by David Davalos. And while it may not pack the punch of the main event it is a smart and funny view into the formation of the attitudes of the young prince.

In addition to their production of Shakespeare's Hamlet, Seattle Shakespeare Company is presenting a contemporary comedy about Hamlet's college days - Wittenberg. Both Hamlet and Wittenberg will run in repertory at the Center House Theatre with several opportunities to see both plays on the same day.
