The Illusionists - Witness The Impossible, the world's best-selling touring magic show, makes its Broadway debut, opening tonight, December 4. It will play a strictly limited six-week engagement through January 4, 2015 as part of a 30-city U.S. tour.

Westport Country Playhouse's annual fundraising event at Mitchells of Westport will celebrate Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist, for her many contributions to the arts in the community, on Thursday, December 4, 6 to 8 p.m. The evening will include food, wine, and music, as well as shopping at Mitchells, featuring men's and women's luxury apparel. Ten percent of purchases at the event will be donated to the Playhouse in the buyer's name.

The Illusionists - Witness The Impossible, which begins Broadway performances on November 26, has added two more performances by popular demand on Sunday December 21 and Sunday December 28 at 11 AM.

On Thursday, November 6th it was announced that Cafe Edison in Times Square is being denied a new lease by The Hotel Edison management. The diner -- which has served as a hub for the Broadway community for more than 30 years -- is expected to close at the end of the year. San Francisco Opera General Director David Gockley announced today the appointment of Daniel Knapp as director of production, effective February 11, 2015. Knapp currently serves as artistic production director and head of company management of the world-acclaimed Bregenz Festival in Austria. He succeeds Greg Weber, who has joined the staff of Tulsa Opera as managing director.
