Today we continue our critical appraisal of the entire English-language recorded canon of Stephen Sondheim - at the very least, all the major productions which were recorded - beginning where we have left off with the round-ups of GYPSY and WEST SIDE STORY, as well as the 2009 Revival Recording of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, from the last few weeks. The last show for which Sondheim wrote lyrics-only, before he was quite able to get his own musical scores produced, was his collaboration with Richard Rodgers, DO I HEAR A WALTZ? Next, we continue with the first show for which he wrote music and lyrics, SATURDAY NIGHT, as well as the first show he wrote music and lyrics for that actually made it to Broadway, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM.

This Stage Limited is delighted to announce three upcoming dates for its new piano bar event Show Off! Show Off!, which had its debut on 6 March 2010 at Cafe Koha, is inspired by the piano bars of New York City. The next three dates for Show Off! will be Saturday 27 March 2010, Friday 16 April 2010 and Saturday 29 May 2010, at Cafe Koha in Covent Garden. The doors will open at 8 p.m. each night, with the live music starting at 9 p.m. Food an drink will be available from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. each night.

Local Performers to Take Part in TITANIC Fundraiser at Lincoln Theatre, 3/27

Phoenix Artistic Director Steven C. Anderson has produced a concert version of the five-time Tony Award-winning musical Titanic and recruited 38 local performers to donate their performances to help raise funds for Phoenix's "at risk" residency program with Columbus City Schools. Phoenix artists and educators go into these schools and partner with teachers to mentor fourth graders considered "at risk of failure in the classroom" by engaging them to create plays based on core curriculum.

David Campbell's 'On Broadway' Album Gets 4/2 Australian Release

Australian actor/muscian David Campbell will be releasing his new album, 'On Broadway' on April 2, 2010, in Australia the star has announced on his Facebook page. The disc was recorded at East West Studios in Los Angeles in January 2010, and produced by leading musical director Rob Fisher and veteran arranger Bill Elliott. The release will coincide with a tie-in television documentary David Campbell On Broadway airing on arts channel STVDIO on April 3, 2010.
