Bridgett Everett & The Tender Moments and More Set for Joe's Pub this Week

Joe's Pub at The Public has announced this week's performances (Jan. 27 - Feb. 3), including LAPHAM'S QUARTERLY, EWALT & WALKER, GRAHAM REYNOLDS & THE GOLDEN ARM TRIOFLOANNE & THE THIRD SET, LAURA CANTRELL, BRIDGET EVERETT RIVER WHYLESS, NEVER SLEEP ALONE, PAULETTA WASHINGTON VINCENT D'ONOFRIO & DANA LYN, BRIDGET BARKAN, PAM ANN DAVID AMRAM WITH THE AMIGOS BAND, CHARLOTTE MARTIN TONY TRISCHKA, and THE CIVILIANS.

OMNI Ensemble Continues 31st Season on 3/1

The OMNI Ensemble will continue its 31st season of concerts in the recital hall at the Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Staten Island, 2800 Victory Boulevard on Thursday afternoon, February 27th at 2:30 pm, and at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music on Saturday evening, March 1, 2014 at 8:00 pm. Music Director/Flutist David Wechsler and cellist Brian Snow welcome harpsichordist Rebecca Pechefsky, and violinists Antonia Nelson and Caroline Chin in a program featuring Baroque and contemporary music played on period instruments for half the concert. Music performed will be J.S. Bach's Trio Sonata in G major, Francois Couperin's Trio Sonata La Superbe, Antonio Vivaldi's Sonata in G, Olga Nazaykinskaya's Trio Sonata, Mark Janello's Six Harpsichord Miniatures, and David Wechsler's Carmela'a Blue Fit for alto flute, violin, viola and cello. Continuing as the chamber music group in residence at the Brooklyn Conservatory, the OMNI Ensemble continues to perform concerts of enormous variety all designed to provide their audience with a musical diversity not ordinarily encountered by one chamber music group. Throughout the season they perform in the recital hall at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.

Well, if it is John McEuen and David Amram, a lot! This rare Tampa Bay performance in the Palladium's intimate, award-winning Side Door, takes place tonight, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m.

The Festivity will take place from May 29th - June 23rd at the Gene Frankel and Robert Moss Theatres.

18th Annual LOWER EAST SIDE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS Kicks Off Today at TNC

THE LOWER EAST SIDE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS (LES) celebrates its 18th year of bringing together -- in one location, over three days -- more than 100 performing arts organizations, local and international celebrities, independent artists, poets, playwrights, musicians, puppeteers, film makers and many others, all of whom reside, work or have their roots in the culturally diverse Lower East Side. Once again this year, New York City's most diverse FREE 3-day, indoor and outdoor cultural celebration will take place on Memorial Day Weekend, from today, May 24 through Sunday, May 26, at Theater for the New City (155 1st Avenue, between E. 9th and 10th Sts.) in Manhattan.

Murray Abraham, David Amram, Charles Busch, Vinie Burrows, City Council Member Rosie Mendez, Assistant Commissioner of Cultural Affairs Kathleen Hughes, Jean-Claude Van Itallie, Thunderbird American Indian Dancers and surprise guests.
