Sometimes the family dog eats the apple pie, the siblings squabble and knock mom's favorite ornament off the tree, and the Baby Jesus in the church Christmas Pageant ironically screams through the entire song, Silent Night.

The Stars aren't only out to play in February!  This April, Hendersonville's favorite non-profit focused competition returns with five brand-new, local celebrities signed on to Flat Rock Playhouse's third annual Theatre with the Stars! The State Theatre of North Carolina is excited to continue its tradition in this one-night only song, dance and theatre extravaganza in which local "stars" partner with Flat Rock Playhouse "pros" and compete with the hopes of raising the most votes to win the title, as well as $1000 for their selected non-profit of choice.

Flat Rock Playhouse Studio 52 announced today a partnership with St. Gerard House, a local non-profit organization offering evidence-based treatment for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other behavioral needs. 

Flat Rock Playhouse Studio 52, a division of the Vagabond School of Drama, est. 1952, announced today the audition dates for their Spring production of JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH as well as a roster of classes and productions slated for Spring 2016.

Flat Rock Playhouse announced today the launch of Studio 52, a division of the Vagabond School of Drama, est. 1952. Kicking off for Summer 2015, Flat Rock Playhouse Studio 52 is an eight week long series of camps, intensives and mini seminars all focusing on Theatre, Musical Theatre and Film for all ages Kindergarten through adult.

Flat Rock Playhouse and Executive Producer, Pardee Hospital will kick off the holiday season with the Charles Dickens' classic tale, A Christmas Carol on the Clyde and Nina Allen Mainstage beginning tonight, November 20th and running through December 21st.

The perennial favorite literally comes to life on the stage in a spectacular new production featuring all the classic elements with a few new twists. It tells the story of bitter old miser Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation resulting from supernatural visits by Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. The industrial setting of 19th century England gives way to a story filled with hope and joy with original songs and amazing puppetry. All the well-known characters retell the magical and uplifting story from "Bah! Humbug!" to "God bless us, everyone!"
