Krapp, 39 is extending once again, recent Drama Desk nominee, Michael Laurence's Krapp, 39, inspired by Samuel Beckett's Krapp's Last Tape, and directed by George Demas, will be extended again now through August 2, 2009 at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street). A highlight of the 2008 New York International Fringe Festival, Krapp, 39 was invited to be part of the Fringe Encores Series; it was then offered a legit Off-Broadway run at the SoHo Playhouse presented by Darren Lee Cole. Krapp, 39's Off-Broadway run began performances on January 13th, and officially opened on January 20, 2009 and has been extended several times since.

Lyric Theatre, Oklahoma?s premiere professional theatre company, will open its 2009 summer season of musicals on Thursday, June 25th with the live stage version of Disney?s High School Musical 2, the second installment of the wildly popular movie series about the adventures and friendships of a group of high school students. Due to Lyric?s success with the 2007 live production of the first High School Musical, the Oklahoma City theatre company was one of the first in the country to be given permission to produce a professional version of the sequel. And he remains an unstoppable creative force, designing scenery for two world premiere adaptations this season: The Servant of Two Masters and Don Quixote.' The 2009 season opens at 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, in the Angus Bowmer Theatre on the battlefields of Scotland with William Shakespeare's tragic play, Macbeth, directed by guest artist Gale Edwards. On Saturday, February 21 at 1:30 p.m. in the Angus Bowmer Theatre, theatergoers will have the opportunity to see the rarely produced Death and the King's Horseman,, written by Nigeria's Nobel Laureate playwright Wole Soyinka and directed by Goodman Theatre resident artist Chuck Smith. At 8:00 p.m. that evening, audiences will be treated to Meredith Willson's classic American musical The Music Man, directed by Rauch.
