HAMILTON To Anchor SunTrust Broadway At DPAC's 2018-2019 Season

Direct from New York, Nederlander presents SunTrust Broadway at DPAC's, 2018 / 2019 Season. It's our "New York, New York" Season with all eight shows being current or recent hits direct-from-Broadway. The eleventh season of SunTrust Broadway at DPAC begins this fall, anchored by HAMILTON, and featuring 2017 Tony-winning Best Musical and the 2018 Grammy Award-winning, DEAR EVAN HANSEN and 2017 Tony-winning Best Revival of a Musical, HELLO, DOLLY! starring Broadway legend Betty Buckley as Dolly Gallagher Levi.

Hartford Stage Extends Agatha Christie's MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS

Due to high ticket demand, Hartford Stage announced today that it is adding four additional performances to the run of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig and directed by Emily Mann. The show now runs through Sunday, March 25. 

Yannick Nezet-Seguin to Become Met Music Director in September 2018, Two Seasons Earlier Than Originally Planned

Accelerating his arrival as Music Director by two seasons, Yannick Nézet-Séguin will take up the post in time for the start of the Metropolitan Opera's 2018–19 season, it was announced today. By freeing up some guest conducting weeks in his busy calendar in both the 2018–19 and 2019–20 seasons, Nézet-Séguin will now be able to conduct three operas and two Met Orchestra concerts at Carnegie Hall in each of those seasons, instead of the two operas per season originally scheduled. With the assumption of the Music Director title in the fall of 2018, Nézet-Séguin will also be taking on the full artistic responsibilities for the orchestra, chorus, and music staff. His full-time collaboration with Met General Manager Peter Gelb on all other artistic matters will also begin at that time. As previously announced, Nézet-Séguin will begin conducting a minimum of five operas per season starting with the 2020–21 season.

Hartford Stage Adds Athol Fugard's A LESSON FROM ALOES To Season

Darko Tresnjak, Artistic Director, and Michael Stotts, Managing Director, announced today that Athol Fugard's A Lesson from Aloes, an important work which speaks to the current social and political discord surrounding the issues of nationalism and immigration, will replace Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act as the final play of the 2017-18 season. Theatre for a New Audience Adds Performance of HE BROUGHT HER HEART BACK IN A BOX

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) has added a performance (February 8 at 9pm) to its critically lauded world premiere production of Adrienne Kennedy's He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box, directed by Evan Yionoulis. The run will conclude, as a scheduled, on February 11.

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) announces a free post-performance discussion moderated by Pulitzer Prize-winning theatre critic and Negroland: A Memoir author Margo Jefferson in connection with TFANA's world premiere production of Adrienne Kennedy's He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box. The talk, which begins at 8.30 PM is open to all and features director Charlotte Braithwaite and playwrights Lydia Diamond and Jackie Sibblies Drury, follows the January 20 performance of Kennedy's first new play in a decade, which begins at 7:30 that evening, at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn, NY 11217). 2018/19 Hippodrome Broadway Series to Include HAMILTON and More

Ron Legler, President of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, home of the Hippodrome Theatre, has announced the lineup of shows for the new 2018/19 Hippodrome Broadway Series.
