Drama League to Host 30th Annual DIRECTORFEST at Abingdon, Begin. 12/12

The Drama League (Executive Director Gabriel Shanks; Artistic Director Roger T. Danforth) presents the 30th Annual DirectorFest, a festival of one-act plays staged by the Fall Directing Fellows, Elizabeth Carlson, Alexandru Mihail, Danny Sharron and Nicole A. Watson, for a limited 5-performance engagement, December 12 - 15, 2013 at The Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex (312 West 36th Street, between 8th & 9th Avenues).

Danforth) has announced their Fall 2013 Programming Schedule of special performances, events and educational offerings at the new Drama League Theater Center in Tribeca and elsewhere. Highlights include intimate evenings with Tony Award winners Laura Benanti, Cherry Jones and Judy Kaye, plus actor Tony Danza. Theatre journalistPeter Filichia will take a look at 'Strippers, Showgirls and Sharks,' and conductor/composer David Friedman will discuss 'Conducting Disney,' and more.

The Drama League (Executive Director, Gabriel Shanks) announced today the winners for the 79th Annual Drama League Awards: Distinguished Production of a Musical, Kinky Boots; presented by Diane Paulus; Distinguished Play,Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, presented by Pam MacKinnon; Distinguished Revival of a Musical, Pippin, presented by Alex Timbers; Distinguished Revival of a Play,Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, presented by Rachel Chavkin; Distinguished Performance, Nathan Lane, presented by Debra Messing at a star-studded luncheon ceremony hosted by Ms. Messing and David Hyde Pierce at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway).

Additional Performances Added to UglyRhino's 3rd Annual Micro-Season

UglyRhino announces that additional performances have been added to their 3rd Annual Micro-Season at The Brooklyn Lyceum, September 6th, 7th, and 8th at 8pm. UglyRhino's 2012 micro-season places mainstage plays at the heart of a larger artistic celebration, providing a variety of events on any given evening. What results is a social experience you can't find in your traditional theater setting. The third annual micro-season will focus on music, surrounding the two entirely new musical plays developed by the UglyRhino team, with live bands, two free curated cocktails, and a DJ after party following Friday night performances.

TinyRhino is UglyRhino's take on the ten-minute play evening. Each month UglyRhino commissions six short plays, 'each including the same five dramatic elements. On the night of the performance, these elements are revealed to the audience as cues to drink. That's right: we've created a theatrical drinking game!'
