Silk Road Rising Presents NIGHT OVER ERZINGA World Premiere, 10/13

Silk Road Rising is set to present the World Premiere of Night Over Erzinga, written by Adriana Sevahn Nichols and directed by Lisa Portes. Night Over Erzinga runs October 9 - November 11, 2012, in Pierce Hall at The Historic Chicago Temple Building, 77 W. Washington St, Chicago. Press opening is Saturday, October 13 at 3:00 pm.

Women's Project Presents World Premiere of WE PLAY FOR THE GODS, Now thru 6/23

Women's Project will end its 34th season with an off-Broadway show of epic proportions when seven playwrights, four directors, three producers and five actors collaborate on one world premiere play titled from the famous Ellen Stewart quote We Play for The Gods. We Play for The Gods stars Annie Golden, Amber Gray, Alexandra Henrikson, Irene Sofia Lucio and Erika Rolfsud. It opens tonight, June 11, at 7:30pm for a run through Saturday, June 23, at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street.

The Lark Theatre invites patrons to join them for a Studio Retreat Reading of Caridad Svich's THE WAY OF WATER, directed by Daniella Topol on Wednesday, April 18 and Thursday, April 19 @ 7pm for free. The reading will be held at Lark's BareBones® Studio.

44th Annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Lineup Announced

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will host more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 44th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), April 16-21, 2012. In January and February of this year, these artists from eight regions presented their outstanding work and were selected to travel to Washington, D.C. for an expense-paid trip to participate in National Festival events taking place at the Kennedy Center.

New Georges Celebrates 20 Years, 3/2

On Friday March 2, 2012, New Georges (Susan Bernfield, Artistic Director; Sarah Cameron Sunde, Deputy Artistic Director; Jaynie Saunders Tiller, Managing Director), the OBIE-winning Off Off Broadway theatre company, will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a benefit Birthday Bash at 3LD Art & Technology Center, 80 Greenwich Street, Lower Manhattan. The evening will include cocktails, catered hors d'oeuvres, special performances which include moments from New Georges' first 20 years, and a dance party.

Silk Road Rising will present Motti Lerner's new play Paulus, translated by Hillel Harkin, directed by Daniella Topol, and featuring: Joseph Anthony Foronda*, Adam Poss*, Diana Simonzadeh*, Brent Barnes, Lacy Katherine Campbell, Bryson Engelen, Justin James Farley, Christopher Meister, and Chris Popio.

Magic Theatre's JESUS IN INDIA Begins Performances 1/25

Three years after the world premiere of his hit play, American Hwangap, Lloyd Suh is back at Magic Theatre with Jesus in India, a contemporary reimagining of a wild stretch in the lost years of Jesus Christ. Teenaged and wayward, Jesus of Nazareth runs away from home and journeys to the East with his friend, Abigail of Galilee, towards a spiritual haven full of Maharajas, punk rock, and some really good weed. Performances begin January 25 and run through February 19. New York-based director Daniella Topol helms this world premiere production.
