Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA) will be launching DETENTION, a monthly performance series allowing students to collaborate and showcase their craft in front of a supportive audience.

Following the sold out performances and overflow crowds at its first six Cino Nights presentations (of new plays by Gary Sunshine, Mando Alvarado, Courtney Baron, Florencia Lozano, Kristen Palmer, and Emily DeVoti) Rising Phoenix Rep continued the series on February 27th at 7 p.m. with Lucy Thurber's NAMED. The production was directed by Jenna Worsham and featured Lila Dupree (Young/Ars Nova), Ronete Levenson (Our Town/Barrow Street), Katie Meister (The Clean House/NYU Grad Acting), and Sarah Tolan-Mee (Melancholy Play/Brown University).

Packawallop Productions (Scott Ebersold, Artistic Director; Jay Aubrey, Producing Director) will host Unmasked: A Masquerade Benefit Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at The Bubble Lounge (228 West Broadway, Lower Level). The festivities begin at 7:00 pm.

The play features 'a Brooklyn butcher, a young writer looking for a place of her own, and Brigid Hitler. Of Long Island.' And asks, 'How do we become who we are? A series of little, tiny choices.'

It's theater boiled down to its essence. Sixty Seconds from lights up to lights down. The much-anticipated short-form theatre festival comes to San Francisco in partnership with new play development center Playwrights Foundation! Curated by Dominic D'Andrea, the program will present over 80 plays all under sixty seconds by some of the most exciting emerging and established writers in the American Theatre

In this two-character play, 'Maris and Joseph have made their beds and now have to lie in them. Two people connected by illness, loneliness, and the need to be understood, they navigate the murky waters of subjective truth. If you believe it, can you make it true?' The production was directed by Rising Phoenix Rep artistic director Daniel Talbott.
