When the all-male musical foursome Well-Strung released their new video 'Chelsea's Mom' on YouTube just over a week ago, the resulting chain of events was something that not even the most powerful entertainment moguls could have engineered, let alone an indie pop-classical singing string quartet.

Walter McBride was given exclusive access to a rehearsal in New York and we have some wonderful pictures to share with you as we enter this 4th of July Weekend.

When it comes to either their signature pop-classical mashups - or their politics for that matter - Well-Strung, The Singing String Quartet, wears its heart on its sleeve. For the first single from their upcoming new album titled 'POPssical', due out in early October, the group debuts their new music video 'Chelsea's Mom' today on YouTube. The video is Well-Strung's inventive take on the Fountains of Wayne hit 'Stacy's Mom', reimagined as a tribute to 2016 Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. The musical arrangement for strings is by Well-Strung with lyrics by Well-Strung, Jeffery Roberson & Jacques Lamarre. The video was filmed by Blake Drummond, edited by Randy Rainbow and was produced by Mark Cortale, Matt Farber and Well-Strung.

Well-Strung, The Singing String Quartet, will return to Provincetown on July 1 to debut their brand new show 'Summer Lovin' directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. The show arrives in conjunction with the launch of the group's Kickstarter campaign for their new CD entitled 'POPssical' scheduled for release this fall. New York City based string quartet Well-Strung returned to 54 Below on Friday, March 27, 2015. Performing to a sold-out house, the always charming and handsome performers delighted audiences with an encore engagement of their entertaining hit show POPssical. While reprising much of what they performed the last time I reviewed them in late October, the guys' charismatic set had a handful of new surprises.

Now in the midst of their second international concert tour, Well-Strung, The Singing String Quartet, will return to New York's 54 Below with their latest production, 'POPssical' tonight, March 27 at 9:30 PM for one show only. The group had also recently been featured at the club last October in Tony-winner Joanna Gleason's critically acclaimed new show.

Well-Strung has been establishing a growing presence amongst Broadway fans. The all-male, singing string quartet whose members are Chris Marchant, Daniel Shevlin, Trevor Wadleigh and Edmund Bagnell, was the brainchild of Manager Mark Cortale and Marchant. They first came on to BroadwayWorld's radar when they appeared onstage for the Opening Gala of the Walt Disney Theater in Orlando, part of the new Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The gala was directed by Richard Jay-Alexander and conducted by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, with members of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. But check out who they shared the stage with: Sierra Boggess, Deborah Voigt, Chris Mann, Norm Lewis & more. We then saw them at the Hirschfeld Theatre in another stellar line-up that included Rob McClure, Julie Haltson, Tituss Burgess, Lena Hall, Florence Henderson, Norm Lewis, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Lillias White, Lily Tomlin and more Broadway favorites for Broadway Backwards, on March 9th, directed by Robert Bartley with musical supervision by Mary-Mitchell Campbell and conducted by Tim Rosser. The guys definitely impressed.

This year's 10th Anniversary edition of Broadway Backwards (#bwaybackwards), which was held last night at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street), featured some of the most memorable numbers from previous years. After seeing Well-Strung's debut music video, Kristin Chenoweth, Tony & Emmy winning star of Wicked and Glee, invited the group to appear in her two sold-out Provincetown concerts this past August at Town Hall.
