The World Premiere of Kinky Boots, the new musical brings together four-time Tony® Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics). Directed and choreographed by Tony® Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots will play the Bank of America Theatre (18 West Monroe Street, Chicago, IL) beginning October 2 through November 4, 2012, in advance of a Broadway opening. Michael Riedel reports in today's The New York Post that 'It appears that Jujamcyn's got "Kinky Boots" and will put it in the Al Hirschfeld Theatre next spring following an out-of-town tryout in Chicago in the fall. Jujamcyn's co-producer will be Hal Luftig, who's on a roll with the hit revival of Evita.'

The New York Times has reported that Sheldon Harnick, lyricist for 'Fiddler on the Roof' has re-written gay-friendly lyrics to the old standard 'Sunrise Sunset'. The new lyrics were sung for the first time on Saturday, October 1st at the wedding of Richard Skipper and Daniel Sherman, in Tappan, NY. The actress Jana Robbins performed the song during the couple's wedding ceremony.

The Roundabout Theatre Company's new Broadway production of Eugene O'Neill's drama 'A Touch of the Poet,' directed by Tony Award-winner Doug Hughes at Studio 54 opened on December 8 and BroadwayWorld.com was there.
