The producers of the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway hit, Thornton Wilder's Our Town, have announced the sale of a new block of tickets through March 14, 2010.

The hilarious, postmodern-inspired klezmer musical 'Shlemiel The First,' which received its world premiere at the A.R.T. in Cambridge, MA in 1994, will be freshly minted during Peak Performances@Montclair‘s 2010 winter/spring season.

February of 2008 has turned out to be a heck of a terrific month for non-traditional and daring Off-Broadway musicals. (Do we have any more opening by tomorrow night?) Following the exhilarating Next To Normal and the entrancingly Dadaist The Blue Flower we now have Joshua Schmidt (music and libretto) and Jason Loewith's (libretto) haunting chamber piece, Adding Machine, based on Elmer Rice's 1923 Expressionist drama. To call it 'old-fashioned' would be misleading, but one of the pleasures of Adding Machine is that it recalls a time when political and social protest musicals were not uncommon among Gotham's theatrical offerings.

Mary Birdsong will appear in a stage reading of NYMF's Live! Nude! Girl! on Oct. 15. The show, about a 1950s housewife who undergoes a dramatic make-over, is written by composer Wayne Barker and lyricist-librettist Donna Kaz. Live! Nude! Girl had a Manhattan reading in January 2008 and will premiere a revised script and score in two NYMF presentations.

Live! Nude! Girl! is an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's developmental reading series and will receive two AEA readings on October 15th at the festival's 45th Street Theatre venue.
