Artistic Director Daniel Evans today reveals Sheffield Theatres' spring season for 2014. The spring includes a season of work dedicated to playwright Brian Friel running across all three auditoria, the world premiere of a new dance-theatre adaptation of Kes, by Barnsley born director Jonathan Watkins; a major revival of fast-paced French farce Boeing Boeing, directed by Jonathan Humphreys, and The Sheffield Mysteries, the new Sheffield People's Theatre production directed by Daniel Evans. The company will also co-produce a brand new production with Third Angel, The Life and Loves of a Nobody.

Big West End showstoppers Once, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Book of Mormon are leading the way, with the competition just as tight for the fringe categories - Chichester's The Pajama Game and Southwark Playhouse's Titanic are also garnering the votes at the moment.

The Daily Mail reports that Ben Richards will play 'Bill Sikes' in OLIVER! at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre, beginning November 29, 2013. Richards will be joining Phil Davis, who was previously announced in the role of 'Fagin'.

Sheffield Theatres today unveils its full autumn season of produced and touring work taking place from September 2013 - January 2014, alongside the news that Phil Davis (Whitechapel and Quadrophenia) will star as Fagin in the company's Christmas musical, Oliver! and Daniel Lapaine (Muriel's Wedding) will lead the cast of The Winter's Tale as Leontes.
According to the Daily Mail, Phil Davis will play 'Fagin' in the Crucible's upcoming production of OLIVER! in Sheffield from November 29 through January 25, 2014. This will be Davis' first appearance onstage in a musical.

Mellor will direct.
