Parks Commissioner Veronica M. White today joined Congressman Joseph Crowley, Queens Borough President Helen Marshall, Councilman Daniel Dromm, State Assembly Member Michael DenDekker, members of Community Board 3, the Jackson Heights Green Alliance and Jackson Heights Beautification Group, and Rory Staunton's family and friends to officially rename this park to honor of his memory.

PFLAG NYC (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays of New York City) is proud to announce Audra McDonald as the featured honoree at the 32nd Annual PFLAG NYC Awards Gala to be held tonight, October 15, at Tribeca Three Sixty in New York City. Ms. McDonald will receive the PFLAG NYC 'Stay Close' Leadership Award in recognition of her years advocating full equality for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people and for her participation in the PFLAG NYC 'Stay Close' campaign which features straight celebrities appearing with their LGBT loved ones.

Now in its sixth year, Inside Broadway's C.A.S.A. (Cultural After-School Adventures) Program, one of many under the New York City Council initiative, will give over 500 New York City public school students at 19 different schools the invaluable chance to be enriched by and exposed to theater, music, and the performing arts this winter and spring.

This evening at 6:30PM, numerous prominent LGBT and progressive leaders and organizations will come together at a highly anticipated rally at Union Square in support of the LGBT Homeless Youth community.

Marriage Equality New York staged their 12th annual fundraising gala in NYC, honoring LGBT advocates NY Sen. Jose Peralta, actor B.D. Wong, attorney Shannon Minter, and activist group Queer Rising.
