Herrick in association with Hartford Stage, presents The Body of an American, a New York premiere by Dan O'Brien (The Voyage of the Carcass, Soho Playhouse)and directed by Jo Bonney(Father Comes Home from the Wars..., Lost Girls). Featuring Michael Crane (Gloria, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) and Tony Award nominee Michael Cumpsty ('Boardwalk Empire,' Machinal, End of the Rainbow, 42nd Street), the limited engagement is now playing through March 20, 2016 at Primary Stages at the Cherry Lane Theatre. Opening night is Tuesday, February 23 at 8PM.

Ngozi Anyanwu's GOOD GRIEF Wins Inaugural Humanitas/CTG Playwriting Prize

Center Theatre Group and Humanitas announce that Ngozi Anyanwu has won first place for the inaugural Humanitas/CTG Playwriting Prize, with Dan O'Brien in second place and Louisa Hill in third place. The prize is awarded annually to the best new unproduced play written by a Southern California-based writer. The winning plays will be developed with CTG's literary staff, led by CTG's Director of New Play Development Pier Carlo Talenti, and will be presented in staged readings at Humanitas Play Fest, Celebrating Southern California Playwrights, at the Kirk Douglas Theatre from February 12-14.

Four New Seasons to Join West End's JERSEY BOYS in March

From Tuesday 15 March, there will be four new Seasons joining the cast of JERSEY BOYS at the Piccadilly Theatre ahead of its 8th Anniversary on 18 March.  This is the first time since the show opened in London that all four Seasons have changed.

Theatrical Response to Race Relations in Berkshire County to be Held 2/6

 Multicultural BRIDGE, WAM Theatre, Berkshire Theatre Group and Yvette "Jamuna" Sirker are joining together to present a reading of Facing Our Truth, a collection of six 10-minute plays by Winter Miller, Marcus Gardley, Dominique Morrisseau, Mona Mansour & Tala Manassah, Dan O'Brien with Quetzal Flores, and A. Rey Pamatmat.  Reflecting on race relations in the United States, this collection of one-acts was inspired by events surrounding the Trayvon Martin case.  Berkshire Theatre Group hosts the event at The Colonial Theatre (111 South Street), February 6, 2015 at 7:30PM with a moderated panel and community discussion to follow.

Pegasus Theatre's 29th YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL Kicks Off 1/1

Pegasus Theatre Chicago shines the spotlight on the next generation of authors at its 29th YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL, featuring three world premiere works written by Chicago high school students and staged in a professional production. This year's festival will play January 1 - 23, 2016 at Chicago Dramatists, 1105 W. Chicago Ave. in Chicago. Ten Finalists Selected for First Annual Humanitas/CTG Playwriting Prize

After reviewing over 230 play submissions, Center Theatre Group announced today that 10 finalists have been chosen for the first annual Humanitas/CTG Playwriting Prize. The award will be given to the best new, unproduced play written by a Southern California playwright.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival Closes 80th Anniversary Year

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival wrapped up its 80th year Sunday night, November 1, with the final performances of Much Ado about Nothing and Pericles. Preparations for the 2016 season are well under way; 2016 member ticket sales start this week and preview performances begin February 19. The 2016 opening weekend is February 26-28.

Christopher Shinn's AN OPENING IN TIME Premieres at Hartford Stage Tonight

Hartford Stage presents the world premiere of AN OPENING IN TIME by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Connecticut native Christopher Shinn, with direction by Oliver Butler of The Debate Society, from tonight, September 17, through October 11, 2015. AN OPENING IN TIME's central Connecticut setting is inspired by Shinn's hometown of Wethersfield.
