by April Montgomery - Apr 3, 2016

I recently read that unless material comes out of living experience, it does not live. The truth of this premise resonated clearly when I attended preview night for Orlando Shakespeare's final play of its regular season, VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE, a show with an unmistakable heartbeat.

BWW Review: Culture and Currency Clash in MKE Rep's Razor Edged THE INVISIBLE HAND
by Peggy Sue Dunigan - Feb 29, 2016

An economic term defines and unravels the life of an American investment banker held captive by Pakistanis in Milwaukee Rep's current production The Invisible Hand. At the intimate Stiemke Studio, Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Ayad Akhtar, educated and raised in a Milwaukee suburb, travels to near future Pakistan in his play where financial markets crash and burn in the first of four Akhtar productions to be staged at The Rep over the nest several years.

by Tyler Peterson - Feb 25, 2016

Milwaukee Repertory Theater announced today the casting and creative team for the upcoming production of The Invisible Hand, which begins performances in the Stiemke Studio on February 24. Kidnapped investment banker Nick Bright desperately plays the world financial markets from a cell in Pakistan to pay his own ransom. In demonstrating the ideology of free market capitalism, he profoundly alters his relationship with his captors, and his captors' relationship with the world. The Invisible Hand measures one man's will to survive and its profound affect on global politics.

BWW Reviews: Adventure's Premiere of TINY TIM'S CHRISTMAS CAROL Delights
by Jennifer Perry - Nov 17, 2014

A pure delight! Ah, the Christmas season is upon us! For the theater and ballet-going public, that means numerous productions of Dickens' A Christmas Carol and probably more than a few Nutcracker offerings to choose from. It can get a bit much, admittedly. At Adventure Theatre MTC, in one single production, one can get the traditional mixed with the new. To that end, its world premiere production of Tiny Tim's Christmas Carol stands out from many of the rest even on paper. Adapted from the Charles Dickens classic by Tony Award-winning playwright Ken Ludwig and his son, Jack Ludwig, and directed by one of DC's finest, Jerry Whiddon, this show is a pure delight - and not just for kids.
