The Actors' Gang has announced an extension of 'Johnny Got His Gun' at the Ivy Substation, adding two performances, a matinee performance on November 11th, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I and Veteran's Day and an evening performance on November 14th. The stage adaptation of Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dalton Trumbo's war novel, Johnny Got His Gun, written by Bradley Rand Smith and directed by Tim Robbins, began previews on October 6th and opened October 13th.

Amazon Studios today announced it has greenlit a straight-to-series order of a four-hour miniseries based on the epic saga of Hernan Cortes. The series, from three-time Academy Award-winner Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan) and Amblin Television, is created for television and written by Academy Award-winner Steven Zaillian (Schindler's List) and based on the screenplay by Dalton Trumbo (Roman Holiday). Emmy-winning Zaillian, Emmy-winning Darryl Frank (The Americans) and Emmy-nominated Justin Falvey (The Americans) are set to executive produce, and Academy Award-winner Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) is set to star and executive produce.
The 16th Annual Garden State Film Festival is thrilled to welcome award-winning veteran actor Christopher Lloyd to their spectacular four-day 16th Anniversary event in Asbury Park this year from March 22-25th! Greenway Arts Alliance Presents: George Orwell's 1984, directed by Kate Jopson as the first production of their novel to stage program Greenway Reads. 300 Fairfax High School students are reading the novel and will attend matinee's of the theatrical production. The adaptation by Alan Lyddiard creates an interactive and engaging experience for audience members. Jopson said, "We're trying to create an immersive experience. The elements of the play and its themes are all around us in the real world. We try to emphasize that and as soon as you arrive at the theater there's not anywhere you're not in the set of 1984, even in the lobby and bathrooms."
Two books in the University Press of Kentucky's Screen Classics series have been named award finalists by the Theatre Library Association.Ziegfeld and His Follies: A Biography of Broadway's Greatest Producer by Cynthia Brideson and Sara Brideson was one of ten finalists for the George Freedley Memorial Award for an exemplary work in the field of live theatre or performance. In addition, Dalton Trumbo: Blacklisted Hollywood Radical by Larry Ceplair and Christopher Trumbo was one of eight finalists for the Richard Wall Memorial Award for an exemplary work in the field of recorded performance.
