YELLOWMAN Begins Next Month at Performance Network Theatre

From January 15­ February 15, 2015, patrons of Performance Network will experience the thought­provoking, tragic yet heartwarming love story "Yellowman" written by Dael Orlandersmith and directed by Lynch Travis. Performances run Thursday­ Sunday (Preview is Thursday, January 15 and Opening Night is Friday, January 16). Tickets range in price from $25­$41. Neve McIntosh and Clifford Samuel to Lead NYTW's THE EVENTS; Tickets Now On Sale

Tickets for THE EVENTS, the third production of the New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) 2014/15 Season, are now on sale at www.nytw.org. Written by acclaimed Scottish playwright David Greig (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - The Musical) and directed by Ramin Gray (The Royal Opera's The Importance of Being Ernest), THE EVENTS begins previews on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 and officially opens on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street New York, NY 10003). THE EVENTS comes to New York for a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, March 22, 2015.

Long Wharf Theatre to Present Dael Orlandersmith's FOREVER, Beginning 1/2

Long Wharf Theatre, led by Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Joshua Borenstein, presents Forever, written and performed by Dael Orlandersmith, from January 2 through February 1, 2015 on Stage II. The press opening is Wednesday, January 7 at 7:30 pm.

Public Theater Extends Suzan-Lori Parks' FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS

The Public Theater announced a second extension for the critically acclaimed FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3), a world premiere play written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair Suzan-Lori Parks. Directed by Jo Bonney, FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3) will now run through Sunday, December 7. It was originally scheduled to close on November 16 and extended the first time through November 30.

Public Theater Extends Suzan-Lori Parks' FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS

The Public Theater announced a two-week extension today for the critically acclaimed FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3), a world premiere play written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair Suzan-Lori Parks. Directed by Jo Bonney, FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3) began previews on Tuesday, October 14 in the Anspacher Theater and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, November 16. It will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, November 30.

Justin Kirk, Jameal Ali & More to Star in THE INVISIBLE HAND at NYTW

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) announced today complete casting for the New York Premiere of THE INVISIBLE HAND, written by Pulitzer Prize Winner Ayad Ahktar. Directed by two-time Obie Award winner Ken Rus Schmoll, THE INVISIBLE HAND begins previews on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 and officially opens on Monday, December 8, 2014 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street New York, NY 10003) for a limited engagement through Sunday, January 4, 2015.

The Kirk Douglas Theatre was originally an historic 1940s Streamlined Moderne-style movie house called the Culver Theater, and it is believed that Kirk Douglas' movie "Spartacus" played there in the early 1960s. In 2003 it was transformed into an intimate 317-seat live theatre venue and named for the theatre's initial major donor: Kirk Douglas. On Tuesday, October 14, 2014, CTG's Kirk Douglas Theatre celebrated its 10th birthday with Anne and Kirk Douglas in attendance.
