Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig, lead producers of KINKY BOOTS, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), have announced final casting for the upcoming first national tour including two Colorado natives. KINKY BOOTS plays The Buell Theatre October 29-November 9 only.

Kinky Boots, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony® Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony® Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), kicked off its national tour last month in Las Vegas, and it will continue to other United States west coast stops in Tempe, San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Costa Mesa before heading east in 2015. As you know, Dear Readers, I have no love for the constant turning of movies into Broadway shows but I'm afraid that it's a trend that is not going away any time soon and sometimes results in some good shows (a certain blonde lawyer springs to mind). And the latest of those movie to stage conversions, "Kinky Boots" has hit the 5th Avenue Theatre with its tour and while the show's lack of songs that move the story along should kill it for me, somehow they've made it a raucous good time and I think I know why. But we'll get to that in a minute.

Joe's Pub at The Public presents Largo, a night of song from the legendary concept album, on Thursday, October 30 at 7:00PM. Largo was produced and written in 1998 by Rick Chertoff and Rob Hyman, with co-writing by David Forman and Eric Bazilian. CREATURES OF HABIT World Premiere Opens Tonight at Dixon Place

Dixon Place will present a world premiere of Creatures of Habit, choreographed by Jonathan Royse Windham to original music composed by Daniel Kazemi. Mr. Windham was recently named one of Dance Magazine's '25 to Watch.' Creatures of Habit will play for three weekends beginning tonight, October 3rd through Saturday, October 18th.

KINKY BOOTS, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award- winner Harvey Fierstein (book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award- winner for Best Score for KINKY BOOTS), opens at Segerstrom Center for the Arts from December 30, 2014 - January 11, 2015. Tickets to KINKY BOOTS at Segerstrom Center start at $29 and are now available online at SCFTA.org, the Box Office at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa or by calling (714) 556-2787. For inquiries about group ticket savings for 10 or more, call the Group Services office at (714) 755-0236. The TTY number is (714) 556-2746. The 2 p.m. performance on Saturday, November 22 will include audio description, open captioning and sign-language interpretation.

As part of TODAY's 'Shine a Light' campaign, Hoda Kotb brought together two superstars to create one special song. Music icons Sara Bareilles and Cyndi Lauper teamed up to produce a masterful mash-up song titled 'Truly Brave' to raise awareness for pediatric cancer.
