Tempe Little Theatre Presents SWEET CHARITY

On March 19 Tempe Little Theatre, the community's only non-profit, all volunteer, theater company will open the classic musical SWEET CHARITY at the Tempe Center for the Arts. With a book written by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, SWEET CHARITY will be directed for Tempe Little Theatre by Jeffrey Middleton.

Tony nominee Gregg Edelman will make his Feinstein debut on February 7th and 8th with the presentation of his cabaret show, 'Back in Town.' Edelman presents a host of old-time, cabaret standards that were highlights at some of the hottest clubs across the country that included places like the Empire Room in Chicago, the Coconut Grove in Los Angeles and the Persian Room in New York City.

According to Popeater.com, Neil Patrick Harris may be heading from the small screen back to the Great White Way to star as P.T. Barnum in the musical BARNUM, about the famed showman. According to the site, Harris is the first and only choice for the role.

Rachelle Ferrell Performs at Blue Note Jazz Club, 2/18-2/21

Vocalist Rachelle Ferrell's immense talent has allowed her to seamlessly cross genres from jazz to R&B and soul, and not surprisingly she has performed with some of the greatest musicians of the last fifty years, including Dizzy Gillespie, Quincy Jones, George Benson, and George Duke. At the Blue Note, she'll feature her incredible vocal range on a variety of songs, from standards and pop hits to original compositions.

Producers Tom Hulce and Ira Pittelman announced the complete Broadway cast of AMERICAN IDIOT today. The production will begin previews on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 and open on Broadway Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44 Street).

Chita Rivera to Kick Off Concert Tour in Florida 1/17; Addt'l Dates Announced

Two-Time Tony Award winner Chita Rivera will perform songs from her legendary Broadway career in her own concert CHITA RIVERA: MY BROADWAY. The tour kicks off on Sunday, January 17 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida. Rivera will be accompanied by an 11-piece orchestra, led by musical director Michael Croiter, and will perform selections from her most celebrated musicals, including numbers from West Side Story ('America'), Sweet Charity ('Where Am I Going?' and 'Big Spender'), Chicago ('All That Jazz' and 'Nowadays'), Kiss of the Spider Woman, Bye, Bye, Birdie and The Rink, and featuring the music of Leonard Bernstein, John Kander & Fred Ebb, Charles Strouse, Stephen Sondheim and Cy Coleman among others.
