According to WhatsOnStage, a pipe burst during the first preview of Strictly Ballroom at Piccadilly Theatre, causing the performance to end early.

Strictly Ballroom is the romantic story that was embraced around the world, and went on to put the Strictly into Come Dancing! Based on the multi award-winning movie, the first instalment from Baz Luhrmann's acclaimed Red Curtain Trilogy, the musical production is a kaleidoscope of colour and fun. Australia's Global Creatures will secure its place as a leading international theatre production company as it celebrates its biggest year ever in 2018.   This year in the UK, the company opens Strictly Ballroom on the West End in April and Walking with Dinosaurs will again roam the globe on a new world tour with August dates confirmed at London's O2 Arena.

Anna Francolini and Gerard Horan will join previously announced Jonny Labey, Zizi Strallen and Will Young in the company for Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom The Musical. Based on Baz Luhrmann's classic film that inspired the world to dance, Strictly Ballroom The Musical will begin performances at the Piccadilly Theatre on Thursday 29th March 2018 (Press Night Tuesday 24th April).

Don't cue the music just yet! According to WhatsOnStage, Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom The Musical has delayed its West End run by two weeks. A statement from the producers reads:

Will Young, Jonny Labey and Zizi Strallen will lead the cast of Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom The Musical when it makes its West End debut in 2018.

Initial casting has been announced for the upcoming West End production of Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom. Jonny Labey and Zizi Strallen will lead the cast of the stage adaptation, joined by Will Young who takes on the role of band leader.

TNT's new drama WILL is sponsoring The Public Theater's Free Shakespeare in the Park during the final performances of Julius Caesar on June 17-18 at the Delacorte Theater in Manhattan's Central Park.

David Mirvish and Global Creatures in association with West Yorkshire Playhouse are delighted to present the North American Premiere of Baz Luhrmann's STRICTLY BALLROOM THE MUSICAL in Toronto.   Based on the beloved 1992 film that inspired the world to dance and that took the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival that year, STRICTLY BALLROOM begins performances Wednesday April 26 and plays through Sunday June 25 at the Princess of Wales Theatre.  Media night is Wednesday May 3 at 8PM.

Four hundred years after the death of William Shakespeare, The Museum of Modern Art will screen 21 films based on his iconic writings in Breaking Bard: Shakespeare on Film, today, October 12, through October 24 in The Roy and Niuta Titus Theaters.

Andrew Bovell's When the Rain Stops Falling continues the Wilma Theater's 2016-17 season. A fish falls from the sky in the year 2039. A man named Gabriel prepares to meet his adult son after being estranged for twenty years. He wonders why his son is coming and what he wants: to know who he is? Where he comes from? Where he belongs? Gabriel knows nothing; his own past escapes him. As the story of Gabriel's family unfolds onstage, his ancestors come alive around him to fill in the gaps. With its web of intricately overlapping connections, When the Rain Stops Falling follows four generations of a family from 1959 to 2039, and from London to Australia. As this family and their world evolve over time, one question remains: in the face of climate change, can we break our habits and change the way we live?

Terry Johnson's "Painfully funny and funnily painful" (The Times) comedy, DEAD FUNNY, returns for a strictly limited season at the Vaudeville Theatre this autumn with Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd, In The Club, Humans), Steve Pemberton (The League of Gentleman, Benidorm, Whitechapel), Ralf Little (The Royle Family, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, The Cafe), Emily Berrington (The Inbetweeners 2, Humans, 24) and Rufus Jones (W1A, Hunderby, The Casual Vacancy).

TNT has ordered 10 episodes of WILL, a brand new drama that tells the wild story of young William Shakespeare, played by newcomer Laurie Davidson.

With just six weeks to go until Baz Luhrmann's smash hit STRICTLY BALLROOM THE MUSICAL dances into the Lyric Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) from 9 September 2015, the company is set to welcome some new cast members including eight local Queensland children.

Global Creatures confirmed today that Baz Luhrmann's much-loved hit show STRICTLY BALLROOM THE MUSICAL will open in Brisbane at the Lyric Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in September 2015.
