Award winning Steppenwolf playwright Lisa Dillman has chosen ROGUE MACHINE to present the West Coast premiere of her play HALF OF PLENTY, for their season opener of 2009. This hilarious and chilling take on lean times and family values in America expresses some all too familiar anxieties on modern living.

The writer who brought us The Light in the Piazza, Reckless, and Prelude to a Kiss now investigates how history collides with the human heart in his funniest and most poignant work to date. The Riemans are your typical American family: they haven't spoken to each other in decades. Severed by deeply buried secrets from the Holocaust, this endearing group of individuals are desperate to stay out of contact with each other. Their story takes you on a passage from today's world of Starbucks, celebrity and therapy to Freud's inner circle in Vienna and to Paris at the end of WWII. This is a classic inter-generational story that both moves and transports, sweeping through one family's journey to reconcile their past.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) will present a special reading and signing with Pulitzer Prize finalist and Playwrights Horizons alumna writer Theresa Rebeck in honor of the upcoming paperback release of her acclaimed novel Three Girls and Their Brother. The event will take place Monday evening, April 20 at 8:00PM at the theater company's Mainstage (416 West 42nd Street), in advance of the paperback's release by Three Rivers Press on Tuesday, April 21.

Steven Pasquale's first solo CD Somethin' Like Love is set to be released on 3/31. The Reasons To Be Pretty star's CD was produced by John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey. The CD is being released by PS Classics.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) will begin previews for Craig Lucas' THE SINGING FOREST on Friday, April 10. Directed by Mark Wing-Davey, THE SINGING FOREST will run through Sunday, May 17 with an official press opening on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 PM.

MENTOR PROJECT 2009: HOUSEBREAKING Written by Jakob Holder, Mentored by Charles Mee, Directed by Daniella Topol Chad is tired of his job, his family, his thirty-five-year-old life; Carmine is tired of life on the streets. Chad brings Carmine home, grooms him and trains him-and forgets that stray animals tend to be wild and cunning survivors.

On Wednesday, April 29, at the historic Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Hotel, Tony Award-winner Roger Rees will host Sing Happy!, The Collegiate Chorale's spring benefit celebrating 'The Great White Way'. The evening features special musical guest and Tony Award-winning actress Victoria Clark, who recently starred in the The Chorale's highly praised concert revival of Kurt Weill & Ira Gershwin's Firebrand of Florence on March 12.

The Cherry Lane Theatre will present the 11th season of its Obie Award-winning Cherry Lane Mentor Project with the new play HOUSEBREAKING - written by Jakob Holder, mentored by playwright Charles Mee - with performances set to run March 24-April 4 at The Cherry Lane Studio (38 Commerce Street) in Manhattan. The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announced today that the first preview of Craig Lucas' THE SINGING FOREST has been moved to Friday, April 10 due to the need for additional technical rehearsals. Directed by Mark Wing-Davey, THE SINGING FOREST was scheduled to begin previews on Tuesday, April 7 and open on Monday, April 27. The show will now open on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 PM.

Tony Award-winning actress and mother Victoria Clark and musical director, Ted Sperling will lend their talents for a one-night concert to benefit the Bank Street School for Children (610 West 112th Street) on Monday, March 23rd at 7PM.

Caitlin and the Swan tells the story of a frustrated SAT tutor, her animal-loving friends, and their powerful attractions to the forbidden. Inspired by the Greek myth of Leda and the Swan, this play explores feminism, bestiality, and the twisted links between pain and love.
