SLCL Presents Ridley Pearson, 6/1

The St. Louis County Library is pleased to present St. Louisan and acclaimed suspense author Ridley Pearson at this special pre-publication event for his newest thriller “Choke Point” on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Library Headquarters, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd. The program is free and open to the public. (Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Seating is limited; early arrival is recommended.) Copies of the book will be available for purchase from Left Bank Books.

Comedy Central to Release Myq Kaplan's MEAT ROBOT Digital Album, 6/11

Showcasing his wickedly smart and witty brand of humor, Kaplan's “Meat Robot” is the comedian's newest fast-paced, mind-melting and side-splitting stand-up comedy album. Kaplan delves into his grandmother's attempts to make grammar fun, how to avoid being axe-murdered and his love for fake meat names. Other topics include “Open Relationships and Tigers,” “Chuck Norris and Owls,” and “Super Mario and Will Smith.”

LAW & ORDER: SVU Up Week-to-Week in Adults 18-49

At 9 p.m. ET, 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' (1.6/6 in adults 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall) grew week to week by 7 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.6 from a 1.5) and 3 percent in total viewers (6.680 million vs. 6.478 million), despite competition last night from the season finales of ABC's 'Modern Family' and CBS's 'Criminal Minds. Note that 'Law & Order: SVU' adds significant viewership through time-shifting, with its prior telecast growing by 40 percent going from these next-day 'live plus same day' ratings in 18-49 (1.52) to 'live plus three day' results (2.13).

GRIMM Finishes Season Strong in Adults 18-49

NBC is #1 Tuesday night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 with 'The Voice' (3.1/9 from 9-10:01 p.m. ET) ranking as the #1 program on a night that included ABC's two-hour finale of 'Dancing With the Stars' (2.6/7 from 9-11) and Fox's two-hour 'So You Think You Can Dance' (1.9/6 from 8-10).

THE VOICE Takes Time Period in Every Key Demo

NBC is #1 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 by a 38 percent margin over #2 (with a 2.9 rating vs. a 2.1 for ABC) and 'The Voice' is the #1 show of the night on those networks by a 36 percent margin (3.4 vs. 2.5 for 'Dancing With the Stars').

CONFIRMED: DOCTOR WHO Renewed for 8th Season

BBC announced this weekend that it had renewed Doctor Who for another outing, following the first part of the seventh season finale on Saturday night. The network had hinted at a pick-up earlier this year, but had yet to confirm the news.

'The Skinny with Peter DeGiglio' Comes to Under St. Marks, 5/29

Imagine 'Meet the Press' crashed into 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.' The end result would be The Skinny with Peter DeGiglio, a comedy news talk show that tackles a new hot button sociopolitical issue each month; often ripped right from the headlines.

THE OFFICE Finale is Most Watched Episode Since 2012

The current 2.9 rating in adults 18-49 from 9-10 p.m. for 'The Office' out-rates every telecast of the show for the past 16 months, since January 19, 2012 (3.0). In total viewers, the 5.412 million from 9-10 also tops every 'Office' since January 19, 2012 (6.020 million).

LENO, FALLON Continue Late Night Dominance

Both "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" delivered bigger audiences than their respective ABC and CBS time-period competition in every key ratings category for the week of May 6-10.

At 8 p.m. ET, 'Community' (1.3/5 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall) delivered week-to-week gains for a second week in a row in 18-49 rating and total viewers

With its late-night lineup of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" at 11:35 p.m. and "Nightline" at 12:35 a.m., ABC won the first full week of the May 2013 sweep (w/o 4/29/13). The Net grew over the prior week by 3% in Total Viewers (2.175 million vs. 2.120 million) and 3% in Adults 18-49 (721,000 vs. 698,000).
