The Johnny Mercer Foundation in association with The American Music Theatre Project at Northwestern University Presents The 4th Annual Johhny Mercer Songwriters Project June 21-27, 2009 The Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project returns to Northwestern University for its fourth year! We are currently seeking talented songwriters or writing teams, ages 18-30, from all popular music genres to participate.

The Johnny Mercer Foundation and the American Music Theatre Project at Northwestern University are presenting the fourth annual Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project on Northwestern's Evanston, Ill. campus, June 21 to 27. The no-fee, weeklong workshop led by Tony?- and Grammy? award-winning artists is seeking talented young songwriters or writing teams from all popular music genres to participate.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Johnny Mercer, master of the American song, 'A Centennial Celebration of Johnny Mercer' (June 24 to 27) will launch the 2009 Summer Music Theatre Festival at the Theatre and Interpretation Center at Northwestern University.

The fifth year of the acclaimed series, ?Monday Nights, New Voices,' will continue on June 29th, with special guest host, Megan Hilty, who is currently starring in Broadway's 9 to 5.

The Theatre and Interpretation Center and American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University will present the 2009 Summer Music Theatre Festival (June 24 to Aug. 9), featuring new works and old favorites performed by both Broadway stars and Northwestern music theatre students.

For the fourth consecutive year the Theatre and Interpretation Center at Northwestern University and the Johnny Mercer Foundation in New York will present ?A Celebration of Johnny Mercer.? The weeklong revelry will include workshops, lecture demonstrations and a closing concert featuring Broadway performers Liz Callaway and Capathia Jenkins and other guest artists.

Andrea Marcovicci ? popularly dubbed 'The Queen of Cabaret' ? celebrated her 60th birthday gala concert this past Saturday, May 16th at 8PM at New York?s The Town Hall. The event coincided with the release of her first-ever 'greatest hits' collection, As Time Goes By: The Best of Andrea Marcovicci on Andreasong, her own label.
