Infinity Entertainment and Falcon Entertainment Group have announced the upcoming release of The Judy Garland Show on DVD. Restored and digitally remastered from the original masters, the 26-show variety special is being released in 13 volumes, each featuring two of the hour-long shows. Volume One of The Judy Garland Show will be released on July 28.

The music lineup at Lincoln Center Festival 09 includes US debuts by Algerian music icon Idir and Moroccan Chaabi singer Najat Aatabou; a double bill with Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara, and Issa Bagayogo; and a tribute to celebrated New Orleans songwriter Wardell Quezergue, featuring a roster of noted musical artists from that city's annual Ponderosa Stomp music festival.

The Metropolitan Opera has commissioned him to write an opera. In 2006 he sold out Carnegie Hall twice, performing the entire Judy Garland concert album recorded there in 1961. His music, described as 'popera' and 'baroque pop,' often features just his beautiful tenor with piano or guitar (he plays both), but increasing employs full rock band instrumentation as well as symphony orchestra to deal with themes like love and unrequited love ('This Love Affair'), family ('Dinner at Eight'), religion ('Agnus Dei,' 'Gay Messiah'), distant places ('Sanssouci') substance abuse ('Go Or Go Ahead') school ('Millbrook') and celebrity and its consequences ('Matinee Idol'). This is a special, solo acoustic evening.
