On Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 3:00 p.m., Jeff Lindberg's Chicago Jazz Orchestra (CJO) begins its 12th Annual Subscription Series with CJO/Gospel Choir Meets Big Band & Selections from the Duke Ellington Concert of Sacred Music, at the Second Presbyterian Church in Chicago.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presents the first new Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie, after a 48 year absence, as the inaugural production of the new Henry Miller's Theatre (124 West 43rd Street) beginning Thursday, September 10th, 2009 with an official opening on Thursday, October 15th, 2009. This will be a limited engagement through January 10th, 2010.

Birdland presented the legendary jazz singer Marilyn Maye in 'Something Cool' for two shows only, Tuesday, July 28 at 8:30 & 11pm. The event was Maye's debut at the historic music room.

Restored and digitally remastered from the original masters, the 26-show variety special is being released in 13 volumes, each featuring two of the hour-long shows. Volume One of The Judy Garland Show will be released on July 28.
