New Jersey Symphony Performs All-Tchaikovsky Program, Now thru 4/14

Music Director Jacques Lacombe and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra present an all-Tchaikovsky program featuring Variations on a Rococo Theme, performed by NJSO Principal Cello Jonathan Spitz, tonight, April 12-14 in Trenton, Red Bank and Englewood. The Polonaise from Eugene Onegin opens the program, which culminates in Tchaikovsky's mighty Fifth Symphony.

The Piano Guys to Release New Album this May

The Piano Guys are back with a new album, The Piano Guys - Volume 2, with their unique take on music from Pachelbel to The Turtles to Bruno Mars, available for the first time on CD on May 7, 2013 from Portrait, Sony Masterworks' new adult contemporary imprint. With International Jazz Day on April 30th our Jazz For Curious Listeners series this month focuses on international artists discussing and demonstrating jazz from around the world and culminates with an international jazz jam blowout with Jonathan Batiste on April 30th at MIST Harlem.

Concord's Capitol Center Jazz Orchestra to Pay Tribute to Count Basie, 5/19

As part of the 'A Moment in Time' Series, The Capitol Center Orchestra, under the direction of Clayton J. Poole, will pay tribute to Count Basie on Sunday, May 19th at 4:00pm. The tribute features drummer and Basie alumnus Butch Miles. The performance will be held at the Capitol Center for the Arts with tickets starting at $20.

Following development in New York City and Washington, D.C., including a sold-out run at the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), Trav'lin - The New 1930s Harlem Musical receives its Regional Premiere at Fort Worth's Jubilee Theatre, the original home of African-American theater in North Texas,beginning Friday, March 29, 2013. Opening Night is Friday, April 5, and the show runs through April 28, 2013.

On Monday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m., Nicola and Beatrice Bulgari and the Carnegie Hall Notables-a membership and ticket program for music enthusiasts in their 20s and 30s-will host the Ninth Annual Notable Occasion with award-winning jazz pianist Rossano Sportiello and his American Jazz Stars, performing works from the great American songbook in Zankel Hall. After the exclusive concert, the Notables will gather at Redeye Grill for cocktails and dinner stations. The Ninth Annual Notable Occasion is generously underwritten by Nicola and Beatrice Bulgari. When Broadway and television star Eddie Mekka (Carmine "the big Ragu" Ragusa from Laverne & Shirley TV series) entertains at TheatreZone's gala fundraiser later this month, he'll be backed by a live six-piece band, led by legendary musical director and saxophone player Tim Fowlar. They will be joined by TheatreZone artistic director Mark Danni playing drums, Joe Choomack on bass, Tom Weaver on guitar, Mike Santiago on trumpet and Peter Van Wyk on trombone.
