After a sold-out stint at The Cutting Room, the BROADWAY SINGS concert series will reprise their latest installment, Broadway Sings Bruno Mars, at the Highline Ballroom on July 20th at 7pm. Some of Broadway's current, brightest talents will again sing completely brand new arrangements of the hits of funk superstar, accompanied by a full band playing original orchestrations. Previous artists honored in the series include Adele, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, Justin Timberlake, and P!NK. Last week, twenty of the brightest talents on Broadway were featured in Broadway Sings Bruno Mars, the latest concert in the Broadway Sings concert series. This July, producer Corey Mach (Godspell, Wicked) and music director Joshua Stephen Kartes will present an encore performance of Broadway Sings Bruno Mars at the Highline Ballroom. In a slew of recent event cancellations, the next installment of the BROADWAY SINGS concert series is relocating due to a recent reception hosted by the venue's owners for Republican Presidential candidate and vocal anti-gay politician Ted Cruz. Last week, it was revealed that Ian Reisner and Mati Weiderpass, owners of The OUT Hotel, had hosted Senator Cruz at their Manhattan penthouse for a "dinner and 'fireside chat,'" as reported by the New York Times. Broadway Sings Bruno Mars, originally scheduled to take place at 8:30 PM on May 17th at 42West in The OUT Hotel, will now take place at The Cutting Room, at the same time and date.
The starry lineup is now complete for the concert highlighting songs from the epic Broadway-Bound musical 'Akhenaten the Musical' on May 1st at The Triad. The Tony Nominee for Motown, Charl Brown, will join Broadway favorites N'Kenge (Motown the Musical, Sondheim on Sondheim) and Ted Keegan (Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd). Also previously announced to perform were Seph Stanek (Naked Boys Singing), John Lucas, Sahar Milani, Alia Munsch, and Erik Ransom.
Magical Music for Life Foundation will present its fourth annual TUNES IN TIMES SQUARE benefit concert Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on the Broadway Pedestrian Plaza between 46th & 47th Streets in Times Square.
