National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects and partnerships in the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2016. Included in this announcement is an Art Works award of $14,000 to Ardea Arts for the creation ofBOUNCE The Basketball Opera. The Art Works category supports the creation of work and presentation of both new and existing work, lifelong learning in the arts, and public engagement with the arts through 13 arts disciplines or fields.

Now in its 14th year, the Downtown Urban Arts Festival (DUTF) is becoming New York's premiere winter/spring theatre event showcasing independent theatre artists. The month-long festival, produced by Creative Ammo, Inc., provides writers and performance artists from America's burgeoning multicultural landscape the opportunity to share their stories that interpret our history and our times.

Downtown Urban Theater Festival (DUTF) announced its 14th Annual Season today which will feature 19 productions from March 8 to April 2, 2016. The season includes 17 new theatrical works to be presented at Here's Dorothy B. Williams Theatre and two solo works, Joe Gulla's The Bronx Queen and Ella Turenne's Love, Locs & Liberation, at Joe's Pub at The Public.
