Now in its 14th year, the Downtown Urban Arts Festival (DUTF) is becoming New York's premiere winter/spring theatre event showcasing independent theatre artists. The month-long festival, produced by Creative Ammo, Inc., provides writers and performance artists from America's burgeoning multicultural landscape the opportunity to share their stories that interpret our history and our times.
Downtown Urban Theater Festival (DUTF) announced its 14th Annual Season today which will feature 19 productions from March 8 to April 2, 2016. The season includes 17 new theatrical works to be presented at Here's Dorothy B. The schedule for this summer's Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival, which runs from July 20 to August 10, was announced today by Bill Bragin, Lincoln Center's Director of Public Programming. Nearly 100 free performances will take place across the plazas of Lincoln Center during three weeks. A special Memorial Concert for Pete and Toshi Seeger on July 20 will be followed by the official opening concert on July 23 with Larry Harlow's Hommy: A Latin Opera, the landmark work's first performance in 40 years. Campbell's children, Ashley and Shannon Campbell, will open the evening with their band Victoria Ghost, and headliners The Young Presidents -featuring Mitch Kaneff and Jake Hertzog - will perform songs from their latest album. Joining them will be rock luminaries Ivan Neville, Anton Fig, Blondie Chaplin, Corey Glover, Adam Ezraand others.
