Anonymous is an upcoming thriller directed by Roland Emmerich. It stars Rhys Ifans and Vanessa Redgrave. It will be released theatrically in the United States on 28 October 2011. Nick Swardson's twisted world of trust fund kitties, gay robots and the infamous 'Garry Gaga' will return as COMEDY CENTRAL begins production on the second season of 'Nick Swardson's Pretend Time,' it was announced today by Kent Alterman, head of original programming and production, COMEDY CENTRAL. The second season of the hit sketch series will premiere on Wednesday, October 5 at 10:30 p.m. following the fall season premiere of 'South Park.'

Will Smith Calls on Emma Thompson to Pen New ANNIE Flick for Willow

As previously reported, an Annie remake is in the works, produced by Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Jay-Z and partners, and starring the Smith's youngest, Willow. No other casting has been revealed (Willow has, however, expressed her wish for Brad Pitt to step into the shoes of Daddy Warbucks), and while for a time it seemed GLEE's Ryan Murphy was in talks to direct, it appears those talks are off, according to published reports.
Today, New York Magazine reveals that Will Smith has called upon Emma Thompson, with whom he is currently starring in Men in Black III, to readapt John Huston's screenplay for the latest reincarnation of the famous story.
Susan Stroman to Direct Broadway-Bound BIG FISH Musical Adaptation

The New York Times reports today that Susan Stromen will direct a musical adaptation of Tim Burton's film, Big Fish. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Hugh Jackman and Laura Benanti recently participated in a reading of the show. The musical is aiming for a spring 2012 Broadway opening. No word from the Times if either Jackman or Benanti are confirmed for the project. Additional creative team members have yet to be announced.

World Premiere by Bacharach/Slater, SCOTTSBORO BOYS et al. Set for Old Globe in 2011-2012; Full Season Announced

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that The Old Globe will produce the World Premieres of four new plays and musicals in its 2011-12 Winter Season. The season will feature the World Premiere musicals Some Lovers by music legend Burt Bacharach and Tony Award winner Steven Sater and Nobody Loves You by Gaby Alter and Itamar Moses, as well as the West Coast Premiere of John Kander and Fred Ebb's The Scottsboro Boys, recently nominated for 12 Tony Awards including Best Musical, directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. The two plays receiving World Premiere productions are Somewhere by Globe Playwright-in-Residence Matthew Lopez and The Recommendation by Jonathan Caren. The new season also includes revivals of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show and the Eugene O'Neill classic Anna Christie directed by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner David Auburn. Special events include the World Premiere of Odyssey by Todd Almond, a music theater event conceived and directed by Lear deBessonet celebrating the Globe's 75th Anniversary, The Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program production of Twelfth Night and Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, which returns for its 14th consecutive year.
Michael Stuhlbarg Set for MEN IN BLACK Film

Michael Stuhlbarg appeared as Arnold Rothstein on HBO's hit show 'Boardwalk Empire.' He last appeared as Hamlet in the Shakespeare in the Park production. Stuhlbarg was a Tony Award nominee for his work in Martin McDonagh's The Pillowman.
