Kathleen Battle To Perform In Recital at Carnegie Hall 2/8/2010

Kathleen Battle, one of the greatest coloratura sopranos of our time, will perform in recital at Carnegie Hall (Stern Auditorium, Perelman Stage) on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 8 p.m. Presented by Columbia Artists Management, Ms. Battle will be joined by Olga Kern, Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Gold Medalist.

TANG CONCUBINES Chinese Stage Show Plays At Buell 4/7-19

From the producers of Heartbeat and Terracotta Warriors comes TANG CONCUBINES, a spectacular Chinese stage show featuring awe-inspiring dance and martial arts, and telling a tale of love, lust, life and death amidst the ghostly ruins of a great Chinese dynasty. Written, produced and directed by Denver resident Dr. Dennis Law, in 2006 TANG CONCUBINES became the only show in Chinese history to win Canada's prestigious Dora Award for Best Choreography and Best Costume Design. TANG CONCUBINES will play Denver's Buell Theatre April 7-19, making Denver the first U.S. city to witness this lavish production. Tickets go on sale Sunday, February 15 at 10am.

OPERA America, the national service organization for opera, announces the next sessions of its ongoing Making Connections series, a professional development and networking program nurturing the next generation of performing and creative artists. Making Connections is geared toward early-career artists, including singers, composers, librettists, designers, directors and others who work in or would like to work in the field of opera.

'Kimmel Center Presents' Series Gets New Leadership

Thomas Warner, who joined the Center in 1999, two years before its opening, has been named Vice President of Programming. Warner who first served as Program Manager, then as Director of Programming, will be responsible for the 'Kimmel Center Presents' series in the Kimmel Center and the Academy of Music-ranging across performance genres including classical, dance, jazz, world and popular entertainment. Warner will also be responsible for 'Free at the Kimmel,' a popular series of programs in Commonwealth Plaza open to the public free of charge.

GARDEN OF EARTHLY DELIGHTS Extends Run Until 3/1

The producers of Garden of Earthly Delights have announced that the show has extended its run through Sunday, March 1 at the Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Lane).
