Nets Players Deliver Toys to Brooklyn Kids

NETS players Brook Lopez, Derrick Favors, Ben Uzoh, Quinton Ross, Stephen Graham, and Joe Smith today gathered at Brooklyn Borough Hall for a holiday party where they helped to distribute toys for children from five Salvation Army community centers in Brooklyn.

Photo Flash: Opening Night of WALLENBERG at WPPAC

Wallenberg, a new musical drama starring Scott Mikita (Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera) opened this past Saturday night, October 30, at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. The opening night celebration was held at Blue in White Plains. Wallenberg, which launches WPPAC's 5-show mainstage season, will run through November 21, 2010.

Antonio Banderas Directs Third Film, 'Solo,' for 2012 Release

Set to debut on the silver screens in 2012, Antonio Banderas will begin production of his new film, a sci-fi psychological thriller, 'Solo,' next year, according to Variety.com. 'Solo' will mark Banderas' third directorial film, which follows 'Summer Rain' (2006) and 'Crazy in Alabama' (1999). Based upon Erik Jendresen's original screenplay, Banderas will play the film's lead, a Spanish colonel suffering a post-conflict trauma. To reach international markets world-wide, the film, which has an anticipated budget of $14 million, will be shot in English and will feature a cast comprised of all Spanish actors.
