The First National Tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON launches in Denver tomorrow, August 14-September 2 at The Ellie Caulkins Opera House. In the video below, Colorado natives Matt Stone and Trey Parker Chat with In Focus' Eden Lane about creating their first Broadway musical, and launching the tour. Gavin Creel talks about his first visit to Denver, a new appreceation of touring, and reveals his thoughts about taking on a role orginated by a close friend.

Original Broadway cast member Jared Gertner will star as Elder Cunningham in the First National Tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, launching in Denver from August 14-September 2 at The Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Gertner will join previously announced Gavin Creel as Elder Price. Samantha Marie Ware joins as Nabulungi, as well as Grey Henson as Elder McKinley and Kevin Mambo as Mafala Hatimbi.

Casting has been announced for the world premiere of HEAT WAVE: THE JACK COLE PROJECT, a new musical entertainment set to debut at Queens Theatre (14 United Nations Avenue South in Flushing Meadows Corona Park) with performances starting on May 3rd 2012.

SECONDARY IMPACT, a play with dance, will have an industry only invited rehearsal on Thursday, March 15 in NYC. Conceived and choreographed by JoAnn M. Hunter (ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER), the piece has music by David Dabbon (SONDHEIM AND SONDHEIM), book by Christine Toy Johnson (TRANSCENDING -THE WAT MISAKA STORY), and is directed by Tony-award winning actress, Michele Pawk. The cast includes Tony Award nominated actress Charlotte D'Amboise (A CHORUS LINE, CHICAGO), Philip Michael Baskerville (THE PRODUCERS, CATS), Brian O'Brien (CHICAGO), Deidre Goodwin (SILENCE: THE MUSICAL, A CHORUS LINE), Miquel Jarquin-Moreland ("Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close"), Dharon Jones, Kristine Bendul, Colin Bradbury, Todd Burnsed, Lisa Gajda, Liz Ramos, and Ryan Worsing. Musicians are Meg Zervoulis (piano) and Peter Saleh (percussion.)

The Drama League just announced that pop star Nick Jonas will join the roster of special guests for their 28th Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway honoring Tony® and EmmyAward®-winner Kristin Chenoweth, to be held on February 6, 2012 at the famed Pierre Hotel (2 East 61st Street). The show brings a superb cast to the Paper Mill Playhouse stage. Robert Newman (Lt. Frank Cioffi) is a four-time nominee for the Soap Opera Digest Award and two-time Daytime Emmy Award nominee. He is best known for his role as Joshua Lewis on Guiding Light. Kim Zimmer (Carmen Bernstein) won four Daytime Emmy Awards for 'Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series' for her portrayal of Reva Shayne on Guiding Light.
