On Thursday, June 21, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, Deputy Borough President Sandra Chapman and the Caribbean-American Heritage Month Committee hosted the 7th annual Caribbean-American Heritage Month festivities at Brooklyn Borough Hall. Events of the day included music and dance performances, a marketplace, film screenings, an economic development power brunch and a tasting of Caribbean food. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced their full slate of partner events and readings for their ninth annual festival. This year's Festival will begin July 9th and continue through July 29th.

Harvey Schmidt, the celebrated composer of The Fantasticks, visited the show for the first time in more than twenty years on Saturday, June 16, 2012. After the performance, Schmidt met with the cast including television veteran John Davidson and triple platinum recording artist Aaron Carter.
