As the fall theater season gears up, the American Theatre Wing has released a slew of new media content on americantheatrewing.org.

On Monday, September 20th at 8:00pm, the Bleecker Street Theater Company will present a reading of Charles Messina's astoundingly hilarious new Broadway-bound comedy, 'A ROOM OF MY OWN' as part of that theater's Play Development Series.

The Douglas J. Cohen musical THE GIG, was commercially released on CD on August 12 through Jay Records. On August 18 at 6:00pm, there was a CD launch at Barnes & Noble on West 66th Street. The cast was there to perform and sign CDs following a panel discussion with Frank Gilroy, Sheldon Harnick, Douglas J. Cohen and moderated by Peter Filichia.

The Goodman Theatre's staging of the musical Purlie has extended its run through October 30th

Jacques C. Smith, Paulette Ivory, E. Faye Butler and Loretta Devine have all been cast in the Broadway-bound revival of Purlie, which will start performances at the Pasadena Playhouse on June 24th

Show runs 3/31-4/3, also stars John Cullum, and Doug E. Doug.
