Atlanta's Tony Award winning Alliance Theatre presents the world premiere musical, Troubadour, by playwright Janece Shaffer (The Geller Girls, Broke) with original music by Grammy Award-winning recording artist Kristian Bush. Set in 1950s Nashville, Troubadour is a romantic comedy about an unlikely group of friends whose unconventional style changes the course of country music. Troubadour is directed by the Alliance's Jennings Hertz Artistic Director Susan V. The Alliance Theatre is pleased to announce its holiday production on the Hertz Stage, Courtenay's Cabaret: Home for the Holidays.  Based on her popular one-woman cabaret show, Courtenay Collins, with director Susan V. Booth, has created a new holiday cabaret that will include music, stories, surprises, cookies, crafts, and Courtenay's signature charm and good humor.  Courtenay's Cabaret: Home for the Holidays will run on the Hertz Stage from December 2 - 24, 2016.

The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. announced winners for the 2015-2016 Atlanta professional theatrical season last night, November 7, 2016, at the 12th annual awards ceremony held at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts and Community Center.

The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2015-2016 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, September 12, to patrons and industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party was generously hosted by the Alliance Theatre, at 6:30pm in The Circle Room, on the third floor, 1280 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia, 30309.

Presenters included local favorite performers Denise Arribas, Tiffany Porter, Gina Rickicki, Clifton Guterman, Kevin Harry, Jeremiah Parker Hobbs, Chris Kayser, and Topher Payne.

This evening, Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. revealed nominations for the 2014-2015 Atlanta professional theatrical season. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Horizon Theatre. Guest announcers included the ladies of The Weird Sisters Theatre Project: Kelly Criss, Veronika Duerr, Jaclyn Hofmann, Tiffany Porter, and Megan Rose.

Booth (Blues for an Alabama Sky, The Geller Girls, August: Osage County), will feature some of Atlanta's most talented and well-respected actors in one of the largest ensembles of the 2015/16 season. EDWARD FOOTE, a Gothic murder mystery set to haunting Appalachian folk song, will premiere on the Hertz Stage now through April 19, 2015. Opening night is tonight, April 1, 2015.

Written by beloved Atlanta author and playwright, Pearl Cleage (What I Learned in Paris, The Nacirema Society…) and directed by Alliance Theatre Jennings Hertz Artistic Director Susan V. Booth, Blues for an Alabama Sky is a timeless look at hopeful dreams in the hopeless days of the waning Harlem Renaissance. Opening night is Wednesday, April 22, 2015.
