The Alliance Theatre has announced the cast and creative team behind its upcoming production of the classic 1960s drama, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, by Dale Wasserman and based on the novel by Ken Kesey. The Alliance's production, directed by Susan V. Booth (Blues for an Alabama Sky, The Geller Girls, August: Osage County), will feature some of Atlanta's most talented and well-respected actors in one of the largest ensembles of the 2015/16 season.

One family faces the music as Geva Theatre Center's 40th Anniversary Season continues with Next to Normal with music by Tom Kitt, book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and directed by Scott Schwartz. This landmark musical begins performances on January 8 and runs in the Elaine P. Wilson Mainstage through February 10.

The awards recognize the best of Atlanta's professional theatre scene, and Broadway World Atlanta will be updating the results live throughout the evening. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, GA. The spacious lobby allowed guests to enjoy drinks, hors d'ouevres and the chance to congratulate their colleagues. Guest announcers, Atlanta's own funny men Bryan Brendle, Bart Hansard, Tony Larkin, Aurora Theatre artistic director Tony Rodriguez and Scott Warren shared the list of nominees while playfully riffing on the 2011/2012 Atlanta theatre season.
Stephen King and John Mellencamp's new blues and rock musical, Ghost Brothers of Darkland County had its world premiere at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre back in April, and according to Showbiz411 the show is heading to New York soon. Director Susan V. Booth will bring the show to NYC for a 10-day workshop in September in hopes of finding new investors.
