El Centro de Experimentación y Producción de Música Contemporánea (Cepromusic) del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (Inbal) realizará un homenaje a la trayectoria y legado musical del compositor mexicano Mario Lavista, a través de la serie Solo Lavista, la cual comprende tres conciertos a través de una revisión de 10 de sus obras de cámara y ensamble.

Renowned choreographers Trey McIntyre and Lauren Lovette share their groundbreaking works with NBT’s dancers performing their visualization. Audiences will also enjoy a special presentation of selections from choreographer Krista Baker. The program will be performed at the Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts on Feb. 5.

Seattle-based singer/songwriter/classically-trained cellist and illustrator Jeremiah Moon has released his debut EP 'Sputnik' via Enci Records (The Joy Formidable, Beach Goons, Fences). I was fortunate enough to get to head down to DeVos Hall for the first live event I have been to there in over two years, the last being to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the week the tour was put on pause due to Covid.   I was very excited to come back for a very special event, to not only hear a great concert but to help send off someone whom I’ve gotten to see quite a bit since starting BroadwayWorld Detroit back in 2018.  Grand Rapids Symphony, Associate Conductor John Varineau, retired in May 2021. He was recognized at an outdoor event on August 1, 2021. This concert marked his farewell, where he lead the orchestra Grand Rapids Symphony Adult Chorus.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley has announced that performances of the hit musical masterpiece Hershey Felder as Monsieur Chopin have been postponed until August 2022. Originally scheduled to run January 19 – February 13, 2022, Hershey Felder as Monsieur Chopin will now be presented August 17 – September 11, 2022.

The San Diego Symphony today announced its winter-spring 2022 concert season, offering 31 performances of classical and contemporary masterworks and chamber music from January 15 through May 28. Presented as “Hear Us Here,” the season will give the San Diego Symphony the opportunity to bring its music to a wider audience, with concerts performed at nine venues in the city and across the County, including the Symphony's newest venue, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.
