Edo de Waart Conducts RACHMANINOFF with Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Tonight

MILWAUKEE, WIS. 03/12/2015 – The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Edo de Waart present de Waart Conducts Rachmaninoff tonight, April 3-4, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. The performances feature Barber's Essay No. 2, Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances, and Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1 with violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg.

Sonnet Rep to Present THE SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS, 4/17-5/2

SONNET REPERTORY THEATRE has announced a hilarious new adaptation of Carlo Goldoni's The Servant of Two Masters, with original music by Bandits on the Run and members of the company, adapted and directed by Nicolas Minas (Assistant Director Driving Miss Daisy on Broadway, Sweeney Todd Live at Lincoln Center). The Servant of Two Masters will play a limited engagement at Teatro LATEA (Clemente Soto Velez Cultural and Educational Center, 107 Suffolk Street, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10002). FirstWorks & City of Providence to Host PROVIDENCE INTERNATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL, 6/11-14

FirstWorks and The City of Providence announce the PROVIDENCE INTERNATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL will take place on June 11-14, 2015. Building off of Providence's international recognition as a creative city, this first-ever signature event will be a jaw-dropping celebration featuring world-class arts, sculpture, music, food and spectacle in the heart of the city's downtown. The centerpiece of Festival activities is Saturday, June 13, 2015 with events beginning on Kennedy Plaza at 4pm. From the largest stringed instrument on the planet, to the undisputed Queen of African Music, to the Grammy Award-winning ambassador of Mali, to visual transformations of city streets with murals, tape art, and photography, the Providence International Arts Festival will light up Rhode Island's capital city over four days, and engage a diverse international audience.

Washington National Opera Releases Schedule for 2015-16 Season

Sheila Callaghan's EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH Begins Tonight at Rattlestick

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, True Love Productions and The Theatre @ Boston Court have announced that the New York Premiere of Everything You Touch, written by Sheila Callaghan and directed by Jessica Kubzansky, will begin previews tonight, January 28 at 8pm at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. The official opening night is set for Thursday, February 12 at 7pm. Everything You Touch is scheduled to run through Sunday, March 29, 2015.

COLLEGIATE THEATRICS: Lipscomb University's Emily Hughes

As hard as it may be to fathom, the calendar indicates we're practically to February already and 2015 is off and running like some out-of-control roller coaster. Perhaps no one is more acutely aware of this than Emily Hughes, an acting major at Nashville's Lipscomb University, who no sooner than she had her bags unpacked from Christmas break that she was already hard at work on her next assignment: playing Mayzie LaBird in Seussical the Musical, which runs February 13-22 at Collins Alumni Auditorium.

Pianist Inna Faliks to Perform World Premiere of Clarice Assad's Godai; Brahms Sonatas Nos. 2 & 3; at Bargemusic

On Friday, March 20, 2015, 8 pm, BARGEMUSIC presents celebrated Ukrainian-born pianist Inna Faliks in a recital featuring the world premiere of Clarice Assad's Godai, five movements for speaking pianist with poetry by Steven Schroeder, paired with two monumental works by Johannes Brahms, rarely heard together on one program: Piano Sonata No. 2 in F-sharp minor, Op. 2 and Piano Sonata No. 3 in F minor, Op. 5. Also featured on the program is Clara Schumann's Romance, Op. 21/#1, “To my friend Brahms.”
